It just so happened that the idiot who went out with the four had been running a very small one-man Mini business for the previous 6 years, so he became the organiser; (and because he also knew all the Mini owners in the area...). He gave the register all the financial support it needed to get started and could talk the back wheels off a Mini. The register has core members, Mini owners, who give up a great deal of time and put a lot of effort into whatever the Register does. Without that commitment the Register would not be what it is, and you are about to find out what that is. The website of the North Devon Mini Register is home to a bunch of certifiable nutcases, who don't just love their minis, they are proud of them. Here are a couple of pictures of the 2 escaped lunatics who have been hiding amongst the rest of the insane nutcases within the register. WARNING: These people can seriously damage your mental health.
In 2006, the Nutcases who took part in any of the Register events helped raise well over £30,000 for the Mini Wing Appeal, for the New Children’s Hospice near Bristol. We are never sure just how much we raise because most of it does not go through us, it goes straight to the CHSW. They keep the tab on it and it just keeps coming in all year round. As mad as we all are, none of us nutcases could have ever imagined that the Mini Wing Appeal would go up by over £52,000 in one year. So thank you to every one who helped raise that fantastic amount of money, to the Register members who work so hard making sure the events run like they should, to the Motorbike Marshals who help with the Grand Tour and organise the street collection, and to every one else, mini owner or not, who helps with our events. Thank you.

The
North Devon Mini Register was started in August 1994, when an idiot and 3
of his Mini friends, just as mad, got together and went for a drive around
North Devon. They enjoyed it so much they wanted to tell everyone and show
everyone how fantastic North Devon could be. They wanted to start a Mini
club, but the thought of committees and the such like soon put them off.
So they decided to start the Register and their aim was to bring Mini owners
together for fun and to raise money for charity.
