... and LEJOG PDF Print E-mail

Lejog started in 1996 when someone asked where were we going next month and I replied John O'Groats. Well it took 9 months to organise and on our first run we took out 21 Mini's. The whole idea was to get everyone from Lands End to John O'Groats in a convoy and we did very well.

Since the first run the event has totally changed. We have added 2 extra days, and we now only do about 250 miles a day. We have 2 small bits of motorway and the rest of the journey is all A & B roads across some of the best countryside in the UK.

We decided 3 years ago that if we intended to go on with Lejog we would have to change it completely. We could not organise an event that would keep us on the road for long times and we needed to prove to anyone that asked that we do not drive for long hours. We now stop for breakfast every morning at a supermarket. Most evenings we are banging in the tent pegs by 4 or 5.

We now have time to stop and explore and even take pictures. It is a fantastic event made even better by the people who take part.
