The Charity Side of the Register - The Story So Far |

|
| £1750 |
As
we have said before it took us 3 years to raise £1750 for the special
care baby unit at our local Hospital, we brought an incubator. |
| £170 |
During
that time we also gave £170 to the British Heart Foundation. |
| £23,500 |
The
first time we did LEJOG we gave GOSH £11,500 We then went on to give
them a further £12,000 |
| £6,000 & £14,000 |
Four
years ago we started to raise money for the Children Hospice SW and we
introduced sponsorship for the Grand Tour. It was the biggest change we
had ever made. We had never worried about how much our events raise, we
always said that when the event was right the money would come in. The
first year we had sponsorship we raised £6000 The second year we
raised £14,000. |
| £36,500 |
18
months ago we started the Mini Wing appeal for the New Children’s
Hospice being built near Bristol. In those 18 months the Mini owners taking
part in our events have raised an incredible £36,500 and it is still
going up. |
Besides the money that we give the CHSW
our event also donate to the following Charities:
- St John Ambulance
- Bideford Lions club
- Ilfracombe Lions club
- Torrington Army cadets
- Bideford Pipe band
- Lee Abbey
| £6000 |
Last year alone we gave then over £1200 between them. Since we started we have given them over £6000. |
THE MINI OWNERS HAD RAISED £87,250 BY 2004
Then we stepped it up a gear. In the next 2 years we raised another £70,000, £50,000 of that in 2006 alone.
2007 saw the opening of Charlton Farm with the addition of £130,000 for the Messy Play Area.
