As we will not be camping at Braddicks this year you can booking in at the new campsite which is 50 yards from the Big Sheep. This can be done from Thursday afternoon and collect your grill plaques etc. Please park in the Big Sheep over flow car park the camping field is only a short distance away. If you have a problem walking then please bring your mini to the camp site. Just look out for the signs.
Thursday Evening IIfracombe carnival if anyone fancies that.

If you are going to use our new campsite you will be able to buy a £7-50 day ticket for the Big Sheep and use it all week, ideal if you need to keep the kids occupied. We are still not sure as to what will be happening regards the Big Sheep on the Sunday, we might find out by the end of August

On the Saturday we will still be doing our normal Kebab run but afterwards you may like to drive over to Torrington and see a spectacular bonfire as the Torrington Cavalier set fire to a replica Torrington Castle. Their last bonfire 5 years ago was a replica of Nelsons ship The Victory. It does start a lot later.

This year’s trophies will be the same as last year the iceberg type made by Dartington Crystal as they were so popular.

It is with some regret that I have to say that we can no longer use Braddicks as the base for the Grand Tour because they have now filled the camping area with caravans and knocked down the toilets.

We have been using Braddicks for over 10 years and in all that time we have never had any problems, which is a great reflection on the people who take part in the GT. Once we heard the news we had 2 options, do nothing and let you sort out your own camping or give ourselves another headache. We chose the headache because there was no where close that could cope with so many campers. It also meant that we would have some control over the cost of camping and bring the cost of the event down for a great many mini owners.

Just to clear up a few points about the campsite. We call it a family site but then so was Braddicks. We have no intention of telling anyone when they should go to bed or when they should stop drinking I have to much respect for the mini owners that do our event to do that. We are going to try and bring the Grand Tour atmosphere to the new campsite, that’s what makes our event so special. That does not mean however if our marshals think you have had to much to drink they will allow you to drive.

So what will our campsite have. We have a catering van coming in most mornings and evenings, the same one that was in the park last year. The Big sheep has a restaurant that serves meals and is open to outsiders about 100 yards away. There is a pub at the end of the road called the Thatched Inn which does evening meals. There is also an Asda about a mile away and a Morrisions a bit further, both have restaurants but close at 8-00pm, just in case you need to stock up with the essentials one needs for a good nights camping.

Now down to basics, don’t you just hate those toilets with the little lever and a horrible hole, well enough of that nightmare. So rest assured that I will be camping on site for the week and I could not put up with that and I do not expect you to. We have order 2 trailer type toilet and they are very nice.

Here is what the hire company say about the toilets.
The Winsford toilet hire range is designed for larger scale events, where a high level of throughput is important, but without compromising the standards expected from Exmoor Luxury Loos. Each toilet hire unit is suitable for events of about 700 people, and consists of two male cubicles, four urinals, and five female cubicles, 4 wash hand basins with hot and cold water, drying facilities and mirrors. Because of this units unique design, it can be used solely as a ladies toilet of seven cubicles, or as a gentlemen's of seven cubicles and four urinals.

We also have a block of 4 showers coming and should we feel we need more then we have some individual ones on stand by.
