Well that was some meeting 2 hours of nuff think but problems. I know we call it North Devons own Italian job but even I did not think it would bring Barnstaple to a stand still just like the movie. The problems are simply that want to impose restrictions on us but they want us to keep the event going I wonder why. They want us to to stop the 300 minis going out at the same time but they do not want us to stop going into the Children's Hospice I wonder why. These problems I can and will argue against and I did. They wanted 20 minis every 10 minures so far I have got 100 minis out in one go and it will be every 10 minutes. Sunday will not be affected but that did not come easy. What I could not argue about was the problems caused by individauls Standing up in the back of convertibles, Standing up through sun roofs. Horns that sounding like police sirens, people jumping out of the minis in the traffic, there were alot more they brought up and we could not argue with them. Sadly they were true. But we do have something on our side and that is the amount of money that we raise and the type of support we get. They are worried that if I stop the event they will get the blame.(p3_violin)

at least they do not want you to stop the event it would be a great sham if it had to come to that. but of course it wont come to that it is a well known event all over the country and great fun to do. and just like miniminx said we are all supporting you all the way
So if its a matter of having a few rules to follow to keep the fuzz happy, guess we better do it. At least that way we don't loose the run, fun and fund raising. Not sure how well letting a few minis out at a time will work though. We'd need more motor bikes maybe? Wouldnt the public get more miffed having to keep stopping every 10 minutes than for a quarter hour in one go??
