as some of the posts that are going on, is about music, i think everybody should tell us what there favourite band is? wot there favourite song ever is? and what their favourite movie is?


my favourite band i dont really have to say cause everybody knows already!
my favourite song is build me up buttercup, from the film  "something about mary"
and my favourite film is a throw up between armageddon and top gun.

Will favourite artist do Leanne? Cos my fav is Bryan Adams.

My favourite film is Gone with The Wind.

And my favourtie song is '18 till I die'- Bryan Adams

mmm - tricky my musical tastes vary depending on my mood - which also vary quite wildly sometimes... i will ponder on this one some..

Movie - can't really decide - so this year's Herbie movie - it was well funny!

And while we're on favourites - Authors - i read constantly, pretty much anything by anyone - so have narrowed it to 2 authors:
Diana Gabaldon - coz she writes REALLY LONG books and i love them, and for sheer comedy and entertainment - Terry Pratchett and the Discworld series. if you haven't read Terry Pratchett  - do it NOW.

Cant decide on any of my favs, depends on the mood I'm in. Music tastes are so diverse its hard to pin point one. Perhaps by era? Aha in the 80s, The Mission and various other 'meaningful' bands (like the Floyd and Queen) in the 90s and at the moment?? Any thing goes but I'm not digging the pretty boy and ditzy girl bands.

The Mish did a song called Wings of a butterfly, wonder if its the same one?

yay-i've found a a-ha fan!! cornwall coliseum 1988.. them were the days... they are still going btw-new album out anyday now called analogue. (yes i know i am sooo sad)

i absolutely agree - they are my favourites - although I do have a softspot for DEATH, Susan and Binky. Probably favourite book though - Hogfather - I love the concept of anti-gods - and the Oh God of Hangovers!!

I just knew there had to be some pratchett fans in this lunatic asylum - it's like he writes just for our 'type'! Have got the whole series that i re-read when i've got fed up with 'normal' books.

The only thing I get to read these days are booking forms and stupid letters from the councils.

I have just been thinking how do you lot find so much time to read books. I try to read in bed but I can never get passed the first page.

you can just cheat and read the end page  sometimes you can tell what the whole books been about from the end page

i'm never without a book - i take about 3 on LEJOG. i think i've had a book on the go since i started nicking mum's at the age of about 12!

When i read Stephen King's The Shining - I had to read 2 so that wasn't the last thing in my head when i went to sleep. without doubt the scariest book ever - but too good to not read it. had to take the dust jacket off though coz it had these eyes on it that followed you round the room when you put the book down....

No normally to knackered to read. Once upon a time long long ago when the world was a very differant place and everything in my life was normal. When the goons where still on the tele and Round the horn was on the radio I had pleanty of time to read books but I was to busy watching the goons and listerning to Round the horn and I'm sorry I'll read that again I just never had the time.

who are the goons? that reminds me that i also love the film "the goonies"

he's gone to bed, he made me watch a john wayne film a couple of weeks ago, it went on for about 3 hours, i missed the ending cause i fell asleep!

I hate that watch something for 3 hours then fall asleep and no one will tell you how it finished

goons were a bunch of daft men - if i remember correctly that dad would sit watching - with a silly expression on his face and odd snorts of laughter and we all watched dad coz he was funnier than the rubbish on telly (ie the goons, dads army, last of the summer wine, steptoe type stuff)

party ring- i've just finished reading 'thud' it's a good one but not one of his best. for me 'witches abroad' is the best. have a soft spot for death of rats,the librarian and the luggage rocks!  definately written for 'our kind'(p2_eek)

leanne-thanks for the compliment,we both certainly have varied taste in music! always meant to read the anne rice books but somehow never got around to it-terry pratchett keeps writing too many new ones.

Ive seen the Manics a few times live, they are awesome, but mother said I was too young to go see A-ha the first time they toured, was only about 7..

Seen some interesting acts live over the years....Meatloaf, Pink Floyd, Souisxie and the Banshees, Blondie, Babybird?????? not my first choice....

Just finished A Hat full of Sky by Pratchett and Sharon Osbournes Biog, thats a good read, half way through The Missions' Names are for Tombstones Baby. but sadly falling under the spell of Catherine Cooksons again, mother in law keeps finding them on ebay!!!

i have only been to two concerts in my life-the a-ha one and skin at exeter uni (only coz the band that my guitar teacher was in won a comp in kerrang to support them at that gig)  now i'm getting on a bit i can't cope with the crowds

i agree - thud was ok - i read 'where's my cow?' too took about 2 mins - but was good. Witches Abroad a very close second to hogsfather for me! i love the witch way of thinking, and the use of headology.
