Well Killarnery Spring was excellent and everyone who went for the week-end had a great time. The live band was excellent and James Chapple from Lantren got every one up dancing. The weather was horrendous but it did not stop them opening the water splash rides in the pitch dark and pouring rain at 8-30pm and with a gale force wind blowing specially for us. It was so windy they close one of the rides but the others where just as much fun, or so I was told by the nutcases who loved it and kept going back for more. The music was set up in the massive big play area which had those long tube slides and a death slide. It also had a ball pond and a big sort of climbing frame it was massive and kept all the kids aged between 3 & 63 busy. It was pure fun and if you think you are to old to have fun in a place like this then think again. There was so much to do all day and the owners made everyone feel so welcome. It is hard to imagine that it was all free for the whole week-end and even the camping was free. It is nice to know in this day and age that someone can welcome us into a place like Killarnery spring for free and they did not care if we took 3 minis or 300. The owners were fantastic as was the staff who joined in with the fun. We were invited back so I asked if I could bring a few friends and they said no problems so on the Saturday of the Grand Tour we are going to Killarnery springs. We are going to have a barn dance with a differance, you do not have to dance, you can lose yourself in the massive play area with the kids. There is so much to do and some thing for everyone, I hope the weather may be a bit better.
My only disappointment was the mumber of mini owners who turned up my but I got a great deal of pleasure knowing that everyone who did enjoyed themselves, so did the owners of Killarnery Springs.

They have little boats to go down the water slide, so there is no swimming involved.

You end up in about six inches of water but not sure if that is outside the boat or inside.

i think the middle slide the water ends up inside the boat, but i think the others you just got a little bit of water at the bottom that gets you in the face!

Sounds like fun! sorry couldn't make it-mabel had a big leak in her back window seal so had to bale her out-soggy back seat-not nice. So will it be killarney springs instead of the kebab run or as well as next year?

Was it the blonde that kept you up till 3am, she was quite a mover. Leannes car had a leaking rad and is now feeling a lot better after some TLC. Linda says she is going to drive it down to Exeter Airport on Wednesday, should be a laugh Linda hates driving anyone elses car it's a good job Leanne left the stereo in the car. Well at least it will give me a bit of peace untill the way home of course.

I wish everyone who starts a mini club the best of luck and I hope that it does not take over their lives like the register has taken over ours but I will not let another LOCAL mini club broadcast it's mini club at any of the events that we organise. We have had 10 years of hard work building up a repution not just in North Devon but across the country. We have raised over a £100,000 for charity and are half way to raising the £150,000 for the mini wing appeal. I know sometimes what we do is just not enough for some people, so be it. We put on 3 events every year and they are all a great big success I think even raising £800 at the South West Mini is a great success. So if another LOCAL club gets involved with Killarnary Spring it would not be right for us to say we are going there this year. Now you know the reason why we are not going to Killarnary Springs.

Terry,

I can't pretend to know the details, but I don't blame you for not wanting to promote the opposition. What astonishes me is that anyone would even consider forming a club close to such a friendly and successful one. I reckon the popularity of our favourite car has peaked with the masses, and there'l be a reduction in the number of clubs, as smaller ones become unsustainable when they lose members, so I wouldn't worry about it if I was you - but I wouldn't promote them!

As for Killarney Springs - what will give them greatest footfall and publicity? The new club, or the biggest car meet in the South West? That's how I'd put it, when I let them know our position!

Whatever happens, I'm up for the "Kebab Run" - my lot are already looking forward to fish 'n chips on the Quay, on Saturday night.

All the best, mate.

R.

To be honest I love the Kebab run as well because I am at the back for a change. I chance to see the run from a different position and no chance of me getting lost.

in fact last year i think we had a BBQ - it's a metaphorical kebab. the food really isn't the point of the run now is it? tell them to stop being so silly!

Missymummy:

As I put in my post, my family have already said they're looking forward to fish 'n chips at the chippy on the Quay at Bideford - eat in or take away, and it's bloomin good. You're welcome to join us (Wife, daughters [23&19] & me - two minis) - lots of others did last year.

Richard.

We just call it the Kebab run because it sounded better than the evening meal run.

She's really 21 we got her from Boarder Collie Rescue when she was 1 she'd lived in 3 differenhomes by then the last being a 5th floor flat she had been really badly treated , but she's very much loved and cared for now, Rory was a recuse dog too he was thrown out with the rubbish with is brother (we think by a farmer in Wales) he's brother had already been rehomed if he hadn't I think we would have ended up havinboth of them.

I couldn't agree more they don't deserve to be treated like normal people.

Some kids up here recently threw a cat of a 5th floor balcony several times and filmed it on their mobiles phones. If I caught them I would end up being locked up.

I also can not understand why people call them dumb animals they're far from it, they know more they we do or as least Rory does he know's what your going to do next before you do!!!

that's the trouble, they would get away with it and u would b in prison. sure i read somewhere that most serial killers start off by killing and torturing animals.makes u wonder what's in the future for those kids. think we have gone a bit off topic here but i'm glad that your dogs are happy and healthy, dogs are very good at getting their own way-they usually can make you believe that it was your idea to give then extra treats in the first place! us humans are so gullible
