Lejog 2006

Has anyone received their booking forms yet. I did send them first class. Who is going to be the first to return it. I have had so much stick over the past few months so get your back sides into gear and return them. I can then get onto the CHSW for their stuff. Just to let you know I am already getting so many inquiries about this years Grand Tour, looks like my life has just been taken over.  HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO.

I'm glad someone is counting the days.  I cannot believe the days are going so quickly.  I'ts our daughters birthday tomorrow, can you believe they will be 24.  How come the older you get the quicker life passes you by.

funny you should ask - i was talking about that at work today.

Mum reckons it should be called Hamish because of its hat, but daniel at work reckoned it should be called Jock because its number plate begins with J (and it is in fact a JOKO according to its number plate).

I think i prefer Jock to Hamish. Up until now it has always been called Mini (with a capital M)

I only know how many days it is coz i looked at the countdown timer on the lejog page of the website. Its 205 days until the grand tour.

Well I have to tell you, Jock & Nessie have become best mates since they have been sitting together on the driveway.  I told Terry when he moves Jock into the workshop he will have to take Nessie as well.  I think Nessie wants to see what major surgery is involved with an engine change as she has got to go through the same before Lejog.  Don't you just love them.

Didnt get the forms today - Terry/Linda need to ask a big favour.... can you let me know when it is ok to give you a quick buzz on the phone or email.... need something by next Monday if poss....

Phone us now or email us.  However Terry says that a copy of our Public Liability was enclosed with your registration form.  I expect you will receice these tomorrow.  If there is any problems then give us a call.

Is there any chance of two number "6"s in the post to me for Monday????? I will explain when I speak to you in person.......

They've been best mates for longer than that - they've stuck together for the last few lejogs now!!

well they come from the same planet you see? there are a lot of OKO's around here, and before we went to the new number plate system, most kent plates had a K in the 3 letter suffix. now we are all G something for Garden of England.

The DVLA must be so imaginative as we have W for The West Country. You would have thought they could have come up with a better system. Before that I think Devon was O - probably for Oh what a lovely county.

Well we have to say that the winners of the 1st completed Lejog form to be received was from Michelle & Carol Stone.  Their completed form together with a cheque was received today.

Is it true that if you can't get the engines to start on the jets you have a great big rubber band. Once you get the ramps sorted out at least you will not have to lift leannes minis up by yourself and with your new engine hoist you will nolonger have to put the rope around your neck to get the engines out.

Woo Hoo!!! makes a change from that year we didn't pay at all.......... till after.

The old bird's out of commission again tomorrow. she's having an op on her right arm/hand for carpal tunnel. she had to stop her arthritis meds 3 days ago, and the trip home in Mini Mack tonight - well what a picture! She's got to keep her arm strapped up for 3 days....... she'll have to learn to drink her wine left handed!!

Wish her well and get better soon from me and paul...

Rita has had the same op on both hands (separately). She had them done under local anaesthetic and for the first one watched the op via a mirror over her head. She declined the offer for the second one - it was a bit eerie watching her wrist being cut but not feeling a thing.

She says the interesting bit is when you come to wipe your bottom, and you find out who your friends are. She didn't have any friends.

Well she's had only had the one hand operated on (so far), and every time she tried to tell me about it i had to put my fingers in my ears and go la la la la la, because i'm squeamish and liable to flake out.

Having broken my right hand i knew how difficult it is to go left handed, especially in the toilet, so told her she'd have to practice!! She very sensibly put on elasticated trousers this morning though and practiced one handed just to check!!

The painkillers were wearing off when i left her.  i think she was planning to go to bed with a sleeping pill so she wouldn't wake up every time she moved!!

it was the magical mystery tour portion of LEJOG. It is a mandatory requirement, as is the complete circuit of a roundabout. The blow out of tyres is optional.

Well, Nikki and Paul started it last year by having a team name and website.

Well, we sorted our name out last year when our tyre blew out on us, and now we have a website too!!

i'm quite pleased how designery it is! i'm definitely more techy than arty farty (i leave that to my boss) so it was quite difficult to have to actually design it instead of just chopping it to pieces and sticking it back together again!

For some reason, my boot-leg html editor didn't install the spell checker (and i'm just c**p at spelling anyway).  Perhaps thats another forum topic "spot chris's spelling mistakes"

       Just a little note to let you know Eve and I managed to rename LEJOG for 1 knight (kngt) only by typing LEGOJ    right letters but a whole new meaning.  

We have a team name and a website

After much delibration we decided on TeamClub-Orange and after much swearing at the computer and a little help from Party Ring - I have managed to get the website up and running.

oh my god its only 19days 6hrs and 14mins till lejog and my car has just gone to the garage for a week ahhhhhhhhhhhhh(p1_whoopy)

Stanleys been to the garage today and had a Stage 1 fitted and on the way back he visited the sign writer to get the sponsorship logos put on.

He is now a bit nippier, but will test him on Saturday to see if he can top the 85mph we managed on Sunday. He can do 60mph in 3rd now, so he may just do it.  

does any experianced lejogers have any advice on what to take or get, for us first timers?

Us old groaters know the way been there a few times. Linda's just said something about clean underwear, so tell your dad will you. Mind you I won't be doing the trip all the way in a pair of Y fronts (not the same pair). Unless someone is going to pay me a lot of money.

1. Copy of the AA Pet Friendly Hotel Guide.

2. Hair dryer - now even more of a must have for Rita than before.

3. Dad with a deep wallet.

blow torch for the midges.

( or avon dry oil spray, forest one i think - but the buggeries get in the mini with you and follow you all the way to john o'groats anyway)
