Right ive got my live and earth into the engine bay. I believe i just screw my earth to the bodywork like anything else but...... which wire or fuse do i connect the live to?

I want some advice on CB's I want one I can take out I have a cigerette lighter socket in the car and I want a gutter mount arial where can I get one and how much are there any makes to avoid?

they all fit inot a cig lighter socket, some might not have one but you canpick them up from halfords for a couple of quid.
midland is a good make of cb, if you can find one with the PA function and mount a loudspeaker under the bonnet so you can shout at people

have a look on ebay, you can pick up a bargain. mine was £90+ from thunderpole, got it brand new for £40 off ebay.
mag mount is better in my opinion, they're more secure. i got a huge mag mount it takes a lot of effort to get it off

hehe just saw charlie was last to post on this page and had a little chuckle to myself as i had a feeling what it would be about . In all fairness she did fix the electrics in 20 minutes that kev couldnt do in 2 hours

I was just looking as I want one as well but Lou isn't sure, but this was quite tempting
looks good, but it wont have as much range as one with an ariel on the outside, and it prob eats batteries!

you can get a cb radio that has all the buttons on the mic, and a tiny little box under the dash that it all connects to. i think cobra did one like that, if you're worried about space and security as once you unplug the mic you can't see anything.

bazzer has one which is portable but ismore like a proper car one if you get what i mean.

they dont take long to fit, the one in my cooper is screwed under the dash using some holes already there, so no drilling. i have a gutter mount on it but i will take that off as i keep catching my head on it getting out of the car in a car park

Right I've got a CB it's in wellsort of as I don't intend leavng it in permently I have gutter mount but it wobbles from side to side an ideas how to stop this?

i cut up some garden hose (hope the old folks dont notice) and used a small strip of it in the gutter so i could tighten the bolts right up without sctratching the paint

it earths through the unit, (thats why theres 2 cores on the cable - coaxial) and anyway, its a plastic mount... mag mounts also have rubber bases so they dont scratch.
