Got a problem with the brakes.  Snatches when braking.  Been told it could be the brake balancer, but cant seem to find one anywhere.  Does anyone have any ideas??  This might not be the correct name for it, so if you know what the proper name is and where I can get one from that would be great!!!

Tyre pressures out?
Tracking or castor out?
Sticking caliper?
Warped drum?
Grease/brake fluid on opposite disc/drum?
Dodgy wheel bearing?

I have just got standard brakes and the mechanic has been through them thoroughly.  I might have misled you when I said snatch, what I actually mean is you apply pressure to the pedal, the car brakes slightly then suddenly the brakes seem to come on fully.  No veering to one side or the other!!!  Had new brake pads and fluid.

Here's a mad idea - brake hoses swelling... as you put the pedal down, the hoses expand more than they should. Eventually they don't expand any more and so the brake fluid suddenly goes towards pushing the pads, which is when the brakes suddenly grab.
