I swear i should have not bought a mini!! I love driving it but it is hard work working on him. I am trying to fit my quick shift that i bought at the weekend. i was just wandering if anyone else has ever fitted one and if so how you got the old locating pins out (the ones which secure the gear stick in place) i cant for the ife of my get them out of mine and i was wandering if there is a knack to it or if mine are just stuck!!! I have checked the manual and it doesn't say in there.

No doubt solving this problem will only lead me on to 10 others!!

Cheers!

They seek him here. They seek him there,
ND mini owners seek him everywhere.
They ask him this and they ask him that.
But don't for get to drop a penny in the old mans hat

Is that a yes? Tried to ring him earlier but he's very elusive!!

Poor Mabel's window channel's rusted and fallen off. Have had a look but it's all looking a bit beyond me!!

Do you think that mini man might be able to sort it out if I dropped some pennies in his hat then!!!

I've heard tell that you make a rather fine job of writing CB's into BINI's too!

Oh dear. I spent almost all after noon trying to fi my quick/short shift. Basically i came to one fundemntal conclusion. It is not worth buying cheap parts for the mini. The shifter is a copy of a KAD and from todays expereince i would say that it is a pretty poor copy! I bought a few bits from midland wheels at the show at the weekend, they were are really cheap ( which i thought was because it was a show) but so far all of the bits i have fitted have been c**p qaulity.

You live and learn!

I fitted a cheap quick sift to my mini with I five speed box and had loads of trouble with it it actual came out of the housing while I was changing gear.  I fitted a KAD one soon after and it's great a bit notchy occasionally but that down to be a five speed bix.
