Nessie is in the garage New grooved discs, new Green stuff pads, lets hope that stops her smoking going down Porlock hill. 2 new track rod ends, new swivel joints. 1 new steering boot. Back brakes OK but mini fins seem to do little. Paint and big brush ordered for the touching up about 2 gallions well she needs it. Oil and wynns ready to go in, more wynns than oil.
Been drying out the interior because the sun roof leaks so does the wind screen. Not only does the water drip on your head, it also fills your shoes up.
This will be Nessie's 11th Lejog

Linda & Me both love BEAR FORCE ONE (nessie)

Of course you do but that's only because you do not have to drive her. She has also done so many local carnivals and has been going to Brighton since 1995.

Dennis is undercover on the driveway with his new boots, his windows, brightwork and lights all masked off having his new coat applied.

Minibum needs the new boots putting on and a bit of a touch up here and there. Tools and spares need sorting out and the CB needs refitting but other than that we're good to go.

Smoke on Porlock Hill is inevitable, I think, but after finally finding some new rear drums which were round rather than oval (long story), at least I'll have a handbrake. It's the hill on the other side, heading into Selworthy, that scares me though. That's a long climb... We are nearer the front this year, aren't we?

I bet Nessie is one of the most famous Mini's in the UK  Well done Nessie on all the miles you do.

The story about the leaking windscreen etc reminds me of a time when mom and dad went on a tour with the XK with the E Type register they had only just brought the car and went on a tour of scotland at the end of the event they had to fill in a form on the form was a space for any specila fetures dad put built in shower as the windscreen leaked so much they had to wear bin bags over their legs!!!  The best bit was they won car of the tour beating many of the concourse cars on the tour!

Anyone want to sponser me for the LGT?

DAY MINUS 20
Yesterday finished doing the service on nessie also removed all the fuse boxes nessie has 3 and gave them 5 minutes in the shot blasting cabinet. I hate it when you touch 1 fuse and every thing stops working.  Also had to get a new tyre.

DAY MINUS 19
Now ready to start the body work but first we are off shopping to see what we can find in the second hand shops, may have to get Linda's sewing machine out when I get back.

Nessie is looking a lot better but the new door plaques do not cover all of the door marks, good job for the flowers and stickers. Even gave Nessie a Tee cut and polish. Bear Force One is smiling again.
Still have the interior to sort out and a couple more jobs for the MOT and then we will give it a road test, it's been off the road for about 3 months.
Has everyone put their stickers and door plaques on yet. Nessie really looks the part, just have to sort out the owners now.

Jock has his door plaques and his flowers on, unfortunately as he hasn't got time to have his panels and paint done before LeJog there is quite a difference in where the old were and new plaques are, the flowers are doing a valient job though

Penfold is all booked for a good wash tomoz or Saturday, dependant on weather, pre stickering and I have booked the kitchen floor for the attempt to put the door plaques onto magnetics. Penfold and the Tart are also having a pre showing in Cardiff Bay next Sunday

Hippie Gear all sorted so will be a busy bunny next week with my sowing kit.

Will start training at the weekend

Dennis is 94.2% stickerificated; just some small flowers and a custom sticker for the boot lid.

Got sore fingers now after fitting a new gutter trim which took a damn sight longer than it should; didn't manage to get the wiper hole plugs on, but the spare wheel carrier and grille are back on.

Had some issues with the door plaque on the driver's side - got the backing paper wet, and it started to separate, half of it coming away in my hand and the other half staying on the plaque. Several minutes with the hair dryer got it mostly off, so now the door plaques are both on.

All very annoying though - I wanted to take it in to work tomorrow

LEJOG MINUS 14.

After 20 years I found the sawing machine under the stairs. Not having used it for 20 years I wondered if it would still work. Switched it on and the needle went up and down, what more could anyone ask, except how to thread it. No destructions, it's very funny I can not remember what I did yesterday but I remembered how to thread it. 10 minutes later I was away. Hippy waste coat sorted but will have to put some trim on it. Might try and get nessie ready for the MOT later on today. I was going to say something else but I can't remember. Oh well it might come back to me later on, now what else did I have to do.

LEJOG MINUS 12

Nessie goes in for her MOT today so fingers crossed and have ordered another sheet of stickers for her. It was cheaper than the paint and will save a lot of time and work. just didn't know how bad she was. Still working on the waist coats but jeans done. Ordered the run numbers, was going to get them done in hippie font but they didn't look right. Lejog is starting to come around very fast now.

I'm planning to do daily updates again this year, both on this forum and on our LEJOG blog.

I've now also sorted out the GPS tracking so you can tell where we are by going here - that's following us from Leeds, through LEJOG with everyone else and then back to Leeds.

Did you really expect anything else but it did cost me a small fortune in bits. For a start it was a gallon of wynns and a small can of oil.
