Dartington Crystal Mini Show

Tomorrow I start work on our Dartington Crystal Mini Show.
Our first problem is do we call Bertie's Balls & Buckets, Berties balls & buckets even if she is not in charge of the balls & buckets.

Anyone got any more problems.

You could call it Borrowed Bertie's balls and Buckets  

That's not bad so who's up for a stall.
I think Ian should be king Rat or should that be Lord Rat again as he did such a good job last year

Dog show preparation in hand. 7 classes as described on another thread.

Rosettes for 1st in each class and a bag of doggy treats for each entrant.

Do we need to fence a little area off? I wondered about some bamboo gardening canes stuck into the ground and some tape?  I could bring that.

Is there any chance anyone can bring along a small table for me to use please.

We could have some "fun" entries.....2 legged dogs of some description.

Scoop is kindly getting me some containers as drink bowls.

mum is getting some bits ready for the cake stall. shes doing sticky toffee, mini meringues, and biscuits (not sure on the flavour yet)

anybody who wants to contribute is welcome  

i will run the gate again if thats ok (bit of a warm up for The LGT   )

I'm quite happy to take care of borrowed Bertie's balls and buckets if you like  

I'm happy to help on anything it'll be my first visit to this one so I'm looking forward to it

I am doing a slightly bigger version of the pool and boat game!!!  Lets just say there will be ducks!!!!  and hooks!!!!  lol you catch my drift!!!  Of course if thats ok with everyone!!!

Me and Ger will be staying in a local YH on the Saturday night so are there to help from early Sunday as needed

We had a great time at this, last year, but I'm afraid we can't make it this year due to it being elder daughter's birthday, and plans having been made for a family celebration.

yep theres the normal car park for people visiting dartington crystal  

Hi Terry  Is it on the same theory as last year, have you got lots of prizes?

I manned the prize table last year and I am happy to do that again or if you prefer I can look after a stall, just put me down. Soz not on the site much but Andrew is reporting back to me.

So reading this thread the stalls so far are:-

Childrens games are:

Splat the Rat
Hook a duck/boat thingy(sorry Jo for the description)
Berties Balls and buckets


We have also the most expertly organised Dog Show and delicious cake stall.


Last year Mike and Bridget did a tombola is that going to happen this year? Do you need bits and pieces for this?

Also there only seems to be 3 kids games mentioned, I'm trying to remember from last year what the other games were. I can only remember the throw the welly game, can anyone remember if there were any other games?

Seeing we have some willing helpers ie Jules, Ger and Mark we could perhaps allocate them a slot.

Anyway, comment away and please list anything I've missed, I can't believe how quick this is coming around.

The welly throwing went down very well last year. Was going to organise a meeting for next saturday. Anyone interested and what time in the morning would be best. Must ask Mike about the trophies.

i will be minus a pickle this year, but seem to remember spending last year repeatedly going around all of the stalls. tragically i can't remember what they were. was there something with playing cards? get some particular car for a prize? may have imagined it of course.

Feel free to put us where needed, we're staying about 5 mins walk away from Dartington on the Saturday Night so no probs with an early start.

We'll catch up with Terry and Co on Sunday in Bristol to get our distructions

I am not bothered when we have the meeting nor how long it takes the option is going to pick up the dragon in law. So we could change the time.

Lou could make it any time after 12.00 but if it is more convenient for everyone else earlier you can just tell her what to do
