I fail to see how a charger for a car would help - you'll probably need one for the camera batteries...

Rain runs off cars too, but you can't charge batteries with it. Unless you have a small hydroelectric power station.
I hope you don't leave this "battery charger which runs off the car rather than charging the car" on stand by all the time - it's quite a waste of electricity. Remember, "the red light means stop: stop leaving me in stand by".
