When Erin was due and we needed a different car and some money towards it, selling mabel seemed like the sensible option.

Now, 4 and a half months on, I'm getting sadder each time I look at the clock ticking down to the LGT.

I so miss my Mini, I wish I'd never got rid of her. On the grapevine I hear that she's not even Mabel now- she's apparently now a manual,( not a bad thing, I know!!). I will look out for her if I can bear to come along to Westward Ho,(if she's taking part) but I know it will make me more fed up that I'm spectating, not taking part.
I know what my next New Years resolution will be!!!

Funnily enough I know how you feel! Poor Mabel, a manual??!! It is very strange watching instead of taking part but you do get to experience the atmosphere of the people watching which is cool. We watch along the straight in Fremington after the ramp and before you get to the hospice - you can always come and join us and we can sulk about Mabel together
I don't miss Foxy at all (sorry!) but I do miss Mabel.

You can always be marshals..... Terry and us would appreciate more help especially getting away from Westrward Ho!

I've always thought, the next best thing to doing the Grand tour must be to go and watch it. It is not as much fun in a new MINI. You sense some people stop waving. Could be worse, at home it would be 2 fingers but folk are nicer in North Devon.

When my cooper was written off 6 years ago, we had to go to Stanford Hall in a Focus!!! I've done that show every year since I passed my test and it felt so alien to go in a non-mini. I have only been with out a mini for a month since I passed. Feel like a part of me is missing with out one....

That was one of the reasons for buying Gem - I know she's not a mini but at least you can still join in - I know there are a few people out there that still don't accept MINIS but fortunately the NDMR crew aren't one of them

We couldnt afford a Bini back then but we have the Clubman now and he is lovely when the weather is naff and the classics are playing up, I have an arguement for the non accepters of the Bini. It was originally a Rover design, they had to sell out to Bimmer, Bimmer were good enough to make the Bini more or less to the original designs. I have the AutoExpress to prove it. So there you have it. Bimmer could have said Stuff your mini design and we would never have had the modern and safer Mini that we all wanted!! But that digresses off the topic hahahaha.

I've had a mini as my second car since 1981. I bought my first one when I had to drive from Kent to Kings Road Chelsea. I could park my car in a little corner of Waitrose goods yard.

Sorry- not been around as was in sunny Scotland last week!!!! NOT!

Terry- she's not booked in, mmm, hope she's okay. Probably best I don't see her!!!

I'd like to help as a marshall but Gerry's working so I'll have my hands full with the kids.

Will definitely be down to see all the costumes in Westward Ho Monday though.
