Barnstaple Carnival BIG NEWS

Barnstaple carnival are once again only going to allow us to take 6 minis into the carnival so I felt it would be better to allow local register members to do it. So we have Mike & Bridget, me , lou & Neve, ? , Jo7 & kevin. But we do need collectors Most of the money we raise will be going to the CHSW other charities will be putting their own collectors in. So I will being loads of Marshal jackets for us and there will be a few people from the chsw to help us collect. I will supply the ear plugs. So those people that are going can fill there cars with collectors if they wish. Lets make an impact and collect some of the money we left behind on the LGT.

The CHSW are going to get a opened topped doubled decker bus that will join the minis in Barnstaple carnival. We will need helpers to get it decorated etc and we need collectors lots & lots of them to walk along side the bus and the minis. So ask your friends & families if they would like to help and join in the fun.  

We come down to Fremington that day and as long as we can leave our car somewhere safe and near to start/finish will happily walk with Domino and collect for you. I googled it and it said it starts at 6pm?

So is there any help out there and does anyone fancy, fancy dress.

Can people park at the hospice and join the bus there? We want to help but need to get to the start point. Can anyone recommend a reliable cab company? I'll have to ask nicely about the dog.

Just to to wait and see if we get the bus if not the carnival leaves the civic centre carpark at 6-00pm so about 4-30/5-00

I think so lots of other people do.

As the bus has not been confirmed I do not think we should turn up early I hate wasting any ones time.

Just had a phone call the bus will be at the civic centre car park at 4-00pm waiting for us to decorate it. Fancy ress why not any one else up for it. Not at home, just rocked Jasmin to sleep.

don't know, haven't had time to sort anything out yet, but I could  pull out a sill wig from the fancy dress box

the original tine for the bus was 4.30  

kevin do you think you could take a gazbo to chappleton. I can take the rest. I know but it should be there at 4-00

depends wht time etc we are going to chappleton. ive got the dogs to look after, so i wasnt planning to have a long day.

Dont worry about the gazbo i will get it sorted, Bus is going to be at the civic centre carpark at 4-00 as long as you get there before 5-30 you wont have a problem getting in, you do not have to bring anything except yourselves.

We might be able to help with the gazebo on sunday. We'll have to take Domino's crate out but that's ok. Talk on saturday at Carnival. Hope to get there for 5.

No problems with the gazbo I am taking the small one so it fits on the roof rack.

Looking at weather forecast it's going to be blue skies and sunshine and 20 degrees.

we could do with a few more people on the open deck bus.

You want walkers as well. If my legs give up I'll be thumbing a lift. Are any families from the hospice coming on the bus?

I think jess is bring some one. so there should be enough room if you need a seat.

I won't be at the carnival tonight as I'm heading over to Dorset to do the mouth to mouth run with Jurassic Coast Minis.  But, I am at work at the hospice this morning - we are making sure all the families and staff know about the bus, minis, carnival etc and where and when to meet. I think some of them will be up for joining in, so there should certainly be some representation from the hospice.  Have a great evening.

Well, what can I say apart from what a great evening!

We have done the New Year's Day Parade in London a few times and that has huge crowds but what we weren't ready for here was the willingness of the spectators to give money.

We walked the route with a bucket and were stunned at the amount we collected. And reckon we'd have got even more if we had more collectors. You don't even need a Mini do it. So how about it next year? We'd certainly do it again.
