I was just reading the article on the cycle race and noticed this comment that was left. I thought it was nice.

How can the police warrant stopping the traffic all around the town for a few bikes and not for the NORTH DEVON MINI RALLY which raises about £35000.00 each year for the local childrens hospice.
The mini rally causes a little disprution as it passes each area it does not bring the whole town to a standstill for up to 3 hours.

I hope you all like it.

Excellent - do we know the author? It wasn't a Mr. Baker, was it?!

R.
ps. On the assumption it wasn't from one of us, who's going to bring it to the attention of The Chief Constable?

I was just thinking about doing away with the minis and getting every one on their bikes life would be a lot easier. It is not the police that cloeses the town it is the council and we will be asking them to get something done next year.
I can imagine what they we say

ON YER BIKE

BEAR FORCE ONE     Terry is a muppet on the end of the arm of Tony Bear

Bear force One. Working thrice as hard, for thrice as many children, getting to the funny farm three times as quickly Not long to go now then.

The way things are going with Torridge Council at the moment it will be a lot worse than peddle off.

Perhaps that was a member of Torridge council who told us to "Foxtrot Off" on the Sunday run this year as he was held up by Asda!

One of the highlights of the weekend for us

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a

well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways,

totally worn out, shouting,  ' Holy s*!t... What a Ride!! '

I watched it, and I saw a few police in both East The Water and Bideford. It was exciting, and the number of spectators was huge - but I think they've set a precedent. Would it be prudent for someone else to approach the council (if that's the way forward), in view of your ongoing "discussions" with them on other matters?

I do not think there will be any problems.

That's good.

Does any other of the non-North Devon Members hate seeing pictures of the area, because it makes them wish they were there? Or is it just me?

We watched it as well and yes we do wish we could live there part-time when we retire. I would be reluctant to leave where we live now as our location is excellent but we have more friends in North Devon.

Andrew follows cycling but it's more fun when you see them cycle past Graylings fish bar in Fremington. He's looking forward to 2012 Olympics at the velodrome.

Although we're always sorry to leave Devon we're always happy to come home BUT nothing can match that view of Westward Ho! beach as you approach.

It's not only you Richard we hate saying goodbye to Devon when we head for home, but our grandchildren are here and that makes it easier

It didn't really bother me....but that is only because were coming to Devon on Saturday. I wouldn't have minded being here for the ToB but couldn't fit that into our schedule. I had to be at work instead.

We were talking to someone on Saturday who did one GT and liked ND so much they relocated the following spring. So it can be done!

Not sure I'd like an 8hr commute though; there's no local office for me to relocate to plus I have regular meetings which don't play well with remote working

Maybe if there's another round of redundancies...
