I think we all have too much to eat over December and January heralds diet plans. I don't think as a nation we celebrate Easter enough but it does make a nice weekend break. Maybe we could trial an Easter dinner one year.

Now this is complicated so please try and Focus when Claire at the Cedars rang me on the 11th to say that the Starter and pudding may vary slightly from the original posting and which i duly passed onto you lot   well what she failed to ask me was to do was collect a new menu and ask for me to ask you to have a look and pick the starters main and pudding !!!! she really didnt as you know i take food very seriously
She left me this message on our answerphone which i picked up at 10.00 last night

I have spoken to her today to say that i would do my best so will post it but that i doubted whether i could reach all of you but that i would try as you know im very trying

here it is

Chicken liver parfait with mulled plum chutney, organic baguette and butter.
Fig and goats cheese flio parcels with balsamic onion confit  & salad garnish.
King  Prawn cocktail with mutigrain bread & somerset butter.
Seasonal soup of the day with croutons, chunky bread & butter.


Main course.

Hand carved free range norfolk turkey breast with all the trimmings.
Wild alaskan salmon fillet with a provencale sauce.
Pan seared barbary duck breast with a sage and honey jus.
British beef & ruddles ale pie served with chips or mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy.
Peppered  mushroom suet pudding served with mashed potatoes, british seasonal vegetables and a portobello  mushroom and colmans Diane sauce.

Desserts.

Cream profiteroles served with chocolate sauce.
Belgian chocolate cheesecake.
Winterberry brioche pudding served with double cream.
Christmas pudding and brandy sauce.


Coffee to finish.
