After much deliberation Michelle and I have decided against travelling to Devon this weekend It's such a long journey and to be honest even if it does thaw a bit more we think it's a bit risky to come. We are really disappointed but under the circumstances we think it's the best decision. Hopefully we can come for a weekend once the weather improves and meet up with you all then
I think we all have too much to eat over December and January heralds diet plans. I don't think as a nation we celebrate Easter enough but it does make a nice weekend break. Maybe we could trial an Easter dinner one year.
Now this is complicated so please try and Focus when Claire at the Cedars rang me on the 11th to say that the Starter and pudding may vary slightly from the original posting and which i duly passed onto you lot well what she failed to ask me was to do was collect a new menu and ask for me to ask you to have a look and pick the starters main and pudding !!!! she really didnt as you know i take food very seriously She left me this message on our answerphone which i picked up at 10.00 last night
I have spoken to her today to say that i would do my best so will post it but that i doubted whether i could reach all of you but that i would try as you know im very trying
here it is
Chicken liver parfait with mulled plum chutney, organic baguette and butter. Fig and goats cheese flio parcels with balsamic onion confit & salad garnish. King Prawn cocktail with mutigrain bread & somerset butter. Seasonal soup of the day with croutons, chunky bread & butter.
Main course.
Hand carved free range norfolk turkey breast with all the trimmings. Wild alaskan salmon fillet with a provencale sauce. Pan seared barbary duck breast with a sage and honey jus. British beef & ruddles ale pie served with chips or mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy. Peppered mushroom suet pudding served with mashed potatoes, british seasonal vegetables and a portobello mushroom and colmans Diane sauce.
Desserts.
Cream profiteroles served with chocolate sauce. Belgian chocolate cheesecake. Winterberry brioche pudding served with double cream. Christmas pudding and brandy sauce.
Coffee to finish. if you could all have a look and pm me back

I'm sure Carol - but given the amount of white stuff we've had in the south east, you made the right decision. It's nearly all gone here now, but side roads were stil treacherous until yesterday afternoon. How about in Planet Thanet?
We've had quite a lot of rain and it's all been washed away, apart from odd little patches still lurking in odd corners But I keep remembering last year when the whole country - including Devon was in the grip of the white stuff - all apart from Planet Thanet that is
Sounds interesting - you'll have to tell us more - or someone will
lets just say, someone didn't see the step
it was a great evening and a good laugh as normal

Thank You Kev! Your lucky I didn't end up on your lap or you may have ended up wearing my drink - I still don't know how I managed not to spill it!
Thank god Lotty and Kate's place has a lift or I would of ended up sleeping on the sofa, Poor Barry propped me up most of the way, cutting off the blood to my arm in the process! Depending on how things are in the morning, I may end up at minor injuries
i will get them uploaded 2moz evening, haven't had time this evening

Bet that Barry was plying you with drink before you left home!
R. ps. Hope you're feeling better this morning.
I could understand it if that was the case but it wasn't! I'd had a glass of wine with Kate before leaving for the meal and had a southern comfort and lemonade in my hand when it happened!
I still can't weight bear on it too well this morning, I had to hop around seeing to the horses this morning which was rather interesting. I really think I might have to get it checked out, I was hoping it would just go away!
I think you should get it checked out. My wrist hurt once when Heidi "jerked" the flexi lead and I twisted my wrist to avoid decapitating Andrew. Later X rays revealed it was broken.

I agree with Rita. Soft tissue injury is bad enough, but if it's skeletal, and it's untreated, it could affect the rest of your life. Off for an X-ray, young lady!

Often the way that soft tissue injuries are very painful. Good news is that you've had it checked out and nothing's broken - so it's just a matter of time.
Put your feet up - higher than your bum, to keep the swelling down - and make demands for loads of cups of tea on the basis "I'd do it myself, but I've been told to rest, with my foot up" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you're enjoying yorselves tonight. It's quiet on here without you - there's only the Kent, Surrey and Hampshire members logged-in.
R.
Not sure if I should start a Minehead group as I seem to spend more time there these days but I love it.
