I'm back from Italy and have just been catching up on the forum

I've had a great time been to Sorrento, Capri (twice), up a chair lift to the top of a mountain on Capri, a cable car to the top of another mountain,  Ercolano (also buried, along with Pompei when Vesuvius errupted) have been to Pompei did that last year, then to cap it all have actually went up Vesuvius and peered down the crater, thankfully it is quiet at the moment although it is monitored very closely, there is loads of sensors and equipment up there. It takes about 20 minutes to climb from where the minibus dropped us  .  

All in all we had a great time, the sun shone and it was very hot (apart from the day we arrived when it poured with rain).  Val (my sister) has now arrived safely back in Scotland and I am safely back on the planet.

Sadly there wasn't one to be had although the people that work up there (selling the usual tourist tat ) get rides up and down
