Oh I'm loving my horns, especially when I was going round a roundabout this morning and some stupid b****r pulled out in front of me - he soon realised I was there

We're not very experienced, Lazybones and I have done two. We took a new MINI each which on reflection is not fair as part of the "reliability" fun aspect of the run. I have to add ours did not break down BUT I did reverse mine into a plinth I could not see at a petrol station and inflicted £400 plus worth of damage to my exhaust.

A large bladder for sure, I was quite uncomfortable at times and I don't drink during the day. There are loo stops but we all have different tolerances.

We did not camp, we got very little value from B&B as we left so early to meet the others. But we did enjoy our LEJOGS.

i don't believe in cooking, so we take enough doings for a cuppa in the morning. A good tent, since ours got destroyed, good bed, snackettes, pro plus (although didn't actually need it this year since it all went so well...), ear plugs (mum's snoring isn't so bad these days though...), cb to listen to the loons banter (oh and er directions on occasion..)... and midgy destroyers - they are tiny but evil. (avon dry oil skin spray is quite a good repellant - but not terribly manly!)

we currently have a mag mount. the gutter mount was not good for us - and as lead car people really need to hear you or else you end up all alone in carnforth with everyone else slightly lost....

I understand that you get a better ground plane with a mag mount, usually because it gets positioned in the centre of the roof.

... whereas my gutter mount is now far better than the magmount I started with. Could be the longer whip too, and the bottom of the coil being positioned at the same height as the rest of the roof to still get a decent ground plane.
