I assume it's to stop him licking his bandaged tail? I think he may have been neutered. I do that automatically to ALL the males that live with me.

Douglas bites his tail he has obsessions with the toilet, running water and his tail. His tail being the BIG thing! He started a tight spinning as soon as we got him and this is developed into a HUGE tail biting problem. This can be due to a number of things we have been many specialists and we have been working really hard every day to ensure he doesnt spin. We have also had blood tests which revealed he is allergic to wheat and meat so we are on the Jame Wellbeloved Salmon dog food, and i cook him pilchard cake and tuna cake for treats . Because dogs spin before they toilet douglas cannot do this without it turning into a full blown tail chase sooo he doesnt go to the toilet very easily but this is improving as hes getting older. Douglas hasnt spun for 2 weeks -joel and i were sooo happy - until sunday he has a serious spin and this time the bleeding couldnt be stopped we had to run out to the vets. Dougie has a large team of people supporting us who we see regularly - and the breader hasnt been helpful at all I have contacted the kennel club and undergoing some bits with them to find out if other dogs in the litter have the issue. We love Douglas alot however he is alot of hard work. 3rd Jan is douglas' 6 month birthday and he has been booked in for the chop.

I assume they have ruled out anal gland problems. Not an easy one to solve. Hopefully he will also grow out of it as he ages. Good luck!
