Well, did you have a good Christmas? We did. We had Andrew's mum and auntie for Christmas dinner. (We did'nt really, we had turkey) We also took a Christmas dinner and some nibbles and a few bottles of drink round to a local guy I know who has no-one to care for him, he was grateful and I felt as though I had done a good deed. He fell in the snow in february and broke his hip and has not been out since.

We did not overeat. A bit more mulled wine, bucks fizz and sherry than we needed but it was all very nice. My marks and spencer turkey crown could have been cooked a bit more but I made up for it with the sprouts!

We're just off to our local pets at home. All their Christmas lines will be half price. Sainsbury's are coming between 2-3 with normal food. What did you all do?

Glad you had a nice time Rita, and Andrew.

We had beef, a whole sirloin from the local butcher, from a Hampshire reared cow. Very nice it was too. Both daughters were with us from Christmas Eve, so this will be the last time the four of us will be able to open pressies in our jim jams (eldest has her own house, youngest is buying with her boyfriend at the moment). Ma-in-Law spent the day with us (Pa-in-Law in hospital), so just the five for lunch.

I went to the football yesterday, they went to the Sales - and they are in John Lewis as I write (madness!).

Had a very nice time thanks. Hope everyone else did too.

I'm now going to write all the Mini Events I'm attending on the calendar - Mrs. J. will NOT be amused when she sees all the entries I've made!! Happy days,

We spent Chistmas Day with our daughter and son in law Karlee and Carl and grandchildren Ellie and Sonny, she cooked a lovely Christmas dinner turkey with all the trimmings, it was so nice to have a rest from cooking. Boxing day our son Ross and his other half Vicky and grandson Harrison came over for the day, we had roast lamb it was very nice, today we are off to friends for nibbles and a drink or two  . Scott is working on his new project a Mini Metro   the engine will eventually go in his pickup

It sounds as if everyone had a good time. I had a very nice Christmas dinner, expertly cooked as always!

Which game?

It may sound like madness but please don't discourage Mrs J from spending as it's people like her who enable me to pay my mortgage! Maybe she could go shopping while you are at Mini events.

Andrew,

Football: Havant & Waterlooville (I'm a season ticket holder) -v- Woking.

Shopping: Consider your mortgage paid - there are five of those HUUUUGE carrier bags in my lounge - bedding, clothes etc.

And she doesn't need any encouragement to go shopping, whether I'm around or not!

I recall H&W having a good run in the FA Cup a couple of years ago.

And I'm glad to hear that Mrs J had a such a successful expedition today.

Christmas Eve was at the In-laws for tea. Then Christmas Day the in-laws come to us for the day, Neve has been poorly since Wednesday so not as excited as usual Had a lovely dinner and didn't need any tea
Boxing Day it's tea at in-laws again for tea, all Lou's family get together and the children all get their prezzies from each other rather than having them all Christmas Day. I manage to arrive late as I always go to watch the football Bideford v Barnstaple        ( Bideford won 4-3 in the last minute) Always enjoy going to in-laws after a win as Mother in Law is from Barnstaple. A restful day today and then at my parents tomorrow for dinner as it is my dad's birthday

Sounds very nice Scoop, though sorry to hear Neve's not well. And good news at the footie.

Yes Lazybones, I was at Anfield for the culmination of our cup run, 26th. January 2008. It was bl00dy marvellous! Unfortunately we haven't lived up to that level of achievement since. Next home match 9th. Jan. Shopping trip was all about youngest daughter setting up home in 2010 - she's an ex John Lewis Partner (5 years a weekender at local Waitrose).

Using your names on here to avoid confusion.

Christmas Eve we went to put flowers on the in-laws graves before cominig home for a curry. Christmas day the kids got us up about 8 (hows that for training! ) & opened their presents. A few beers whilst I cooked dinner before a bottle of wine with the turkey, roasties, stuffing, pigs....... Then me & the Mrs opened our pressies. Boxing day was round my parents beef & a few more beers to celebrate West Ham's massive win over Pompy

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a

well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways,

totally worn out, shouting,  ' Holy s*!t... What a Ride!! '

Richard - I can imagine that it must have been a fantastic trip to Liverpool.

Scoop - There's nothing like scoring the winning goal in the last minute of a local derby, and like Jack K I'll be a very happy Hammer if Spurs are on the receiving end of that tomorrow.

I sense a backlash from the girls on its way with all this talk of footie.......

Christmas eve, ham, beef, turkey, pigs in blankets, rolls, salad, nibbles in front the TV with Barry, Nan, Mum, Dad and Bro. Plenty of bucks fizz drunk!

Christmas day, usually up by about 6.30 but this year everything seemed different. Up at about 8 horses seen to, back in, cup of Tea and biscuits and pressie opening! I got a flip video camera from mum and dad so I'll be well away while at all the mini events!

Looking forward to new year now! First time in a fair few years that I'm actually going to be doing something rather than sleeping!

Mostly chilled in front of the telly with a few bevvies. Very expensive turkey went down well on xmas day, I managed to get away with only 4 sprouts (result!). Turkey lasted us til last night. We all got presents which we liked, and there was no strangling of in-laws
