From memory and it is quite a few years ago now, alkathene pipe had to have copper inserts into a coupling/ joint If it's still the same, you'll need some of them too. The prices quoted seem good though.

the MDPE pipe uses plastic inserts now, city plumbing look about the same price

the biggest cost will be the pipe, 100m of 20mm is around £60-£70!!!

100 m of 20mm is £45 from the farmer shop and that includes vat but the connections are more expensive than the web page. The good news is once we have the pipe etc we have it and can use it again next year should the LGT happen again next year.

I've got a very long metric tape

I got a metric tape off eBay but was very disappointed, as it's really difficult to use.

It's really short, but it's about 100m wide.
