Here is the latest news.
The campsite is a lot bigger than Westward Ho!
We have ordered 2 trailer toilets 1 for the ladies and 1 for the gents.
We have also ordered a shower block. There is water on site which saves us a great many problems and you will not be sharing it with the sheep. If we need more toilets etc we will not hesitate to get them.
We hope to be selling bottles of asda still drinking water for about 13p per bottle. That covers our H&S.
On the Sunday night we hope to do the auction inside the big sheep and have some other entertainment but we are still working on that. Non camper will be welcome.
We are also working on getting special reduced entrance for everyone into the Big Sheep during the non event days, IF YOUR STAYING FOR THE WEEK. The campsite will be opened from the Wednesday before the LGT to the Wednesday after.
Camping will cost £5 per person per night I cannot see any reason why it should cost more and like all our events children camp for free. But you will have to pay for a gazbo
Caravans will be welcome but may cost a little more.

HERE IS THE BIGGEST NEWS THE BIG SHEEP BREWERY IS GOING TO GET A SPECIAL BEER MADE FOR THE EVENT AND IT MIGHT BE CALLED THE " THE LEGENDARY GT SPECIAL BREW" .

We welcome comments and I hope to take a few of the crew members to view the site very soon.

That thing at the end of August just gets better.

UPDATE 1

Braddicks have just phoned me and said they will only have about 5 camping space left after the new caravans are in place. If they still allow camping as the toilet block has already been demolished.

After listening to a few crew members I think it may be best if everyone has to bookin beforehand. This will be for your convenience, so that we have enough toilets etc for the numbers of people going camping. I think I may try and get one on line so people can return it on line. They can pay when they turn up like they do now.

The field will not be a problem as long as they are on leads because of the sheep. Just so it is clear we will not be sharing a field with the sheep I know that may disappoint some of you but thats life. As to the Big Sheep I will check.

That looks great for you happy campers and I'll be so happy to come for some fun and entertainment, Terry, I am always amazed at how much work and organisation you and your helpers do for this event, it takes me all my energy to just go to work each day and try and run the house, and I have no kids either! When can we nominate you for one of those national hero awards??

Water, we also have to sort out our water supply from the top of the hill down to the showers etc. That means we need pipe and connections. Seem to have that sorted from the web but I need to go a measure how much we need.

From memory and it is quite a few years ago now, alkathene pipe had to have copper inserts into a coupling/ joint If it's still the same, you'll need some of them too. The prices quoted seem good though.

100 m of 20mm is £45 from the farmer shop and that includes vat but the connections are more expensive than the web page. The good news is once we have the pipe etc we have it and can use it again next year should the LGT happen again next year.

I've got a very long metric tape

I got a metric tape off eBay but was very disappointed, as it's really difficult to use.

It's really short, but it's about 100m wide.

100 m of 20mm is £45 from the farmer shop and that includes vat but the connections are more expensive than the web page. The good news is once we have the pipe etc we have it and can use it again next year should the LGT happen again next year.

thats a good price, wheres that from??

do you want to meet up friday afternoon to measure up what pipe we need, plus work out what fittings we need???

I hate campsite where you cannot park your car next to your tent. So yes you can park your car next to your tent just like I will be doing. The campsite is more than big enough even bigger than Braddicks.

Is there anyway we could have an area by the entrance to the feild where people booking in can park then walk down to book in?

Good idea. We won't be camping but need to book in and don't want to clog up parking for tents if we do pop down at any time. Quite a few non campers used to meet and mingle at the check in area. We don't want to feel we can't pop down, even to help out so a separate area would be good.

There is an area by the gate which has been covered with hard core so people can use it to park up if they want. I will put this on the front page, so everyone will know.
We expect quite a few people popping into the campsite all day long, if only for the nice company.
