Is anyone doing the run proper? From inside Crystal Palace to Brighton. We used to but it took too long and then we did Show n shine so was allowed to leave early but spent the time cleaning the car and waiting too long to be judged. Domino gets bored so we're going straight to Brighton in real mini, Krakatoa.
We're doing the run proper We leave home at about 4.00am inorder to arrive at Crystal Palace when the gates open at 5.00 so we get a reasonable exit out of the park, although I must admit we go down the M23 rather than follow the A23 all the way inorder to get to Brighton in a reasonable time

well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting, ' Holy s*!t... What a Ride!! ' '
I'm camping and doing the run too, and I have something to do with the show and shine this year
x
Hope you get a good category to judge. On the floor please looking for muddy bits. Before Krakatoa was rebuilt we always came 2nd to a Nightfire red which was immaculate and used to the extent he had to get his wife, 2 kids and a buggy out before he prepped. Krakatoa got 1st the year he entered and luckily Nightfire red did not show.
I could do... I normally have my little stove either at the back or beside the car in the queue! beats buying the horrid expensive stuff from the burger vans!
Well in that case, we'll have 2 full english no tomatoes, 1 bacon sandwich & 1 fried egg sandwich Thanx

We yearn to keep chickens but as I write there are 3 foxes running around our garden and they keep coming up to the french doors to wind up Domino. It works, he barks like fury but he also does it during the night. I'm sure my neighbours are impressed (not!)
We get the foxes here too and badgers too. We just have to make sure that we put the chickens and ducks in the runs at a reasonable hour and make sure they're shut in the house before it gets dark. We have had ducks and chickens go 'missing' during the day though

Depending on how the vote goes today you'll soon be able to legally set Domino loose on them

We will be going straight down to Brighton with all the SMOC club stand stuff as usual, I would like to do the whole run again but would have to get a lift as Neil doesn't want to spend the day "sitting in traffic" Lost count of the number of times we've done L2B and Show and Shine but always enjoy the day talking to all our Mini friends old and new
We have been going to Brighton for about 15 years maybe more. Over those years we have won best club stand 3 times, Linda picked up the prizes for John Cooper himself. I love Brighton, it a place where you meet so many interesting people and the odd nutcase and a lot of them now do that thing at the end of August.
I love Brighton a place where I can have some fun and talk to a few nutcases. This year we are going to take the protector & screen and show everyone what the LGT is all about. We are also going to take splat the rat and try to raise a few bob.

We're doing L2B again this year. Got it sussed now, (11 runs on) stay in local hotel, get to CP for about 7ish & park outside, sorted Only down side is that we're doing it in the MINI as the Mini will still be in the bodyshop. At least we're have space for the stuff I buy
Will do the usual & pop around to say hi!!!
Only a biker understands why a dog sticks it's head out of a car window!!!
Looks like I had better keep the kettle boiling we could have a busy stand again this year.

It's not looking so good now, lets hope the forcasts are wrong
What I've seen on BBC suggests the rain will not go as far south east as Brighton but the googled version talks about light rain. I feel the weather always gets here "early" and monday forecast is better. We'll enjoy ourselves whatever. Come and introduce yourself. We hope to get onto Terry's stand and will be in a volcano ex sprite-Krakatoa.
Hope you're right, will pop bye & say hello, & look out for Krakatoa. We'll be in Henti, our BRG Cooper with the the claret & blue ribbons on the roof aerial

Well the rain held off, a little light rain in the air but it was cold. Is it the middle of May? We did not think it was as busy as last year, we could walk along by the trade stalls quite easily. Did you all have a good day?

Good day - very tired - Luke lasted at least 5 minutes before he was sparko in the back. Got most of the bits I wanted for Mini Jock. Jock Jr tucked up in the garage fully loaded, to be unloaded another day. Might summon the energy to eat, shower and bed! it will be nice to sleep in a flat bed, and not be sliding out of bed onto my head like last night. It was exhausting having to try and pull myself up hill back into bed, tangled up in knots in the sleeping bag!

Good day bar the chaos of getting out of Crystal Palace park (never again! ) & the the Very heavy traffic on the M23 & M25 coming home. Spoke to a few old friends, managed to get one of the LE L2B Corgi models which really surprised me because of the the time we arrived at Brighton, but otherwise didn't buy much. Finished the day off following Terry out of Brighton on a very dubious route to say the least, hopefully there weren't any cameras around!

I know but I was only following the lead car and I wondered why we got so many funny looks. It was a really good day and met loads of friends.Splat the rate did well and always drew a crowd when someone was having a go. Must get more boys toys.

We had a great day was nice to see some of you there sorry we missed the rest it was VERY busy on the SMOC stand but really chilly got home at 22.00 after having a meal in Brighton and a very wet trip back
I'm so sorry I missed so many of you at either Crystal Palace or Brighton, I was running around chasing my tail, or being chased by Barry, to even have time to think!
I spotted a little black mini at Crystal Palace all stickered up for LEJOG, who's was it? Anyone going to own up?
I wish I had had time to come over and say hello to everyone but the traffic was terrible and by the time I got to Brighton it was time to do my SnS judging duties and by the time I'd done all that you were all leaving, I did catch Mike and Jo though
I ended up spending the night in Worthing as Luna decided she didn't want to leave by jamming on her front brakes! Little mare!
I hope you all had a fabulous time and made it back safely!
