I've just brought a new shiny laptop (Packard Bell LJ71 Easynote 4gb, 1000 gb harddrive 17" very nice) as my old Acer broke the hnge broke on the screen!!!!

Anyay its running Windows 7 but doesn't appear to have out look it has Works and a trial version of office 2007 which I still need to activate.

What email program do you recomend (ideally free)

Windows Live Mail is a free download which looks to have taken over from Outlook Express.

A long time ago I used Eudora. There is a free version which I think had adverts but I seem to remember it being ok.

All covered above. I use Thunderbird, but as Andrew says windows live mail has replaced Outlook express. You'd probably get that off Windows update
