We/ve had 12 hours plus of heavy rain from the south west. Let's hope it dries out down there. We live near a river and we got an environment agency message through to move our cattle to higher ground........
If the weather does turn wet then we may have to tell those people who are coming just to bookin to use the Big sheep over flow car park except those people that have walking problems. But we will decide on a day to day basis. the hard standing that we had enlarged by the gate wasn't for us to use as a car park but to stop the gateway getting bogged down. The campsite is quite high surrounded by hills and is very quick draining unlike westward ho but just how quick no doubt we will find out soon. Just to remind everyone this is our first attempt at organizing a campsite and have no idea what problems we will encounter so we are being a little bit over protective towards the campsite.if we do not then we may well spoil the whole weekend for a lot of people. We have seen what happens to other campsites and we do not want a nightmare like that.
We will never stop anyone from parking their minis next to their tents but during the day if they intend to keep going in & out of the campsite we may ask them to leave it in the lower part of the field by the gate. These are only sensible ideas for the benefit of everyone. BUT I WILL REPEAT WE WILL NEVER STOP ANYONE PARKING THEIR MINI NEXT TO THEIR TENT.

I as I said just wait and see what the weather is like. The problem will not be space just the cars going in and out.

Like Terry says we just need to see what happens and try to discourage unneccessary vehicle movements. Once someone's parked they are parked but it's going in and out that could cause problems.

We plan to leave a very grey and damp Hampshire early tomorrow am. We had planned to leave early this am, but I got a call from my solicitor late yesterday afternoon, saying that they wanted to exchange contracts on Mum's house today, and complete tomorrow. So I had a few jobs to do today, to get the house finally cleared/read meters etc. Just checked the Westward Ho! webcam, and it looks dry - maybe a bit grey and blustery.
The weather looks better in Westward Ho! than It is in Hemel this morning, hopefully it'll stop raining by lunchtime when we're setting off for sunny (hopefully) North Devon
