LGT THE BEST YET

Well what can I say this years LGT was the best yet why?

First of all the LGT campsite was fantastic much better then Braddicks the toilets and showers were really nice the feild its self was massive plenty of space for the kids to run around the evenings in the Gazebo were great chilled out and relaxed (and now cheesy music being played at full volume) ASlthough it rained while we were setting the tents etc up it still didn't really spoil the atoshpere.

Thursday saw a groupl of us attend Ilfracombe carnival which was a good chance to promote the LGT!

The booking in went really well and as for the 3 runs well words can not discribe to thoose who weren't there what it was really like they were Awesome Mondays run was increadable all the Fancydress and Mini decoraed it great to see and created a real carival atmoshere.  It never ceases to amaze me how many people stand at the side of the roads to watch us go by and support the CHSW.

The Big Sheep was brillant not only did they give anyone reduced etance fees but unlimited free returns for the wekk!! And then they opened up their indoor play area fexcluidvely for thoose on the LGT and it was free.

I would like to say thank you to everyone Terry, Linda, THe motorbike Marshalls, My Fellow Mini Marshalls, THe Big Sheep , Everyone who took part in the LGT and the 1000's of members of the public who stood at the side of the roads to support us.

I'll be back next year and also have my name down for the lejog next year

it was brilliant! some 'snapshots' of my LGT include:

• The Vince clone looking after our camp site. Every time I looked there was a Vince busy doing something (he/they were very generous with his/their jumbo nuts too.....)
  
• The camp site - massive, safe for kids to run around and apparently with good trees to climb (and until the sun came out, my new wellies! )
  
• Watching Luke collecting money at the carnival - he's very... er... direct (poor kid must take after his grandmother...)
  
• The Big Sheep - so many from there - Mark sat in the middle of a jumping pillow giggling like a girl, trying to get up, Chris screaming like a girl going down the drop slide, Richard saying he wouldn't go down the slide and then going down repeatedly when Luke asked if he was going again..., tying ourselves in knots on the carousel (we got told off when we tried it on another visit mind you)
  
• Flo's masterpiece Bill and Ben and the Shaun the sheep mini
  
• The fantastic sunshine (finally) on a bank holiday monday
  
• The random pockets of people dotted around the country side as we drove by
  
• The amount of money raised
  

I'm sure there are more...

Why oh why is it so long til the next one ??? This one was absolutely brilliant and I can't stop thinking about it....especially when I go and look at the U-Tube footage which has been posted. LNDGT is always a totally magical experience for me. Long may it continue

I wouldn't know if it was the best yet, as this was our first time! But i can say it really was a fantastic experience, extremely well run, and in support of a brilliant cause. Great stuff!

Plans already being discussed for next year so can we skip a few months

Was that you following us in a White mini with a roofbox up the A361 & M5 till we came off at the Taunton junction

What happened to the flags and key rings this year as I could not find any for sale??? Would have had my normal 4 flags and 12 key rings  

I had flags from previous years with me, which was good. Even if I have flags with me, I still buy more !!!! Let's hope we get some more next year  

I agree that's why I always get 4 flags so I have plenty, fancy Terry forgetting these importent items. cannot think what he was doing all weekend

Don't think Terry forgot. He controlled his costs and the outlay of flags could have have been detrimental. On the check in desk, only a few requests for flags were made. Unfortunately NDMR does not sit on a bank account balance to image LSMOC.

ok .. can I order 6 now then for next year.... I'll pay in advance if that helps... I need flags I have none.... .... and then next year if you let me back I can cover my car in them..

Maybe the flags could be added to the Tee shirt order form so that Terry only buys what people want   Terry PM sent about key rings ect:  

I have 4 boxes of the key ring inserts still left but which I will make use of this year. Flags are ordered in batches of 1000 and we are working on that. New design and colour already decided wait and see..

You've got a firm order for 6 so that only leaves 994.

Sorry its taken me such a long time to reply...been such a busy bee!  I must say that the NDGT does indeed get better year after year.  2010 was my 8th year in attendance and despite the Mini problems was the best yet!!  I huge well done to Terry, Linda and all the NDGT Marshalls and bike out-riders - you are really all a credit to best Mini event of the year!

Yes that was us , we had to give the LGT flags back but Flo had some free ones from thye Esso garage, that we had on all the way back

Okay put us down for 8 flags, we left all our from previous year at home, as we always buy new ones each year, but we will happily buy some more

We are going to get plaques for the bikes next year, we can get smaller ones or you can have the bigger one both cost the same.
