Had a nice day yesterday at Stanford Hall, loads of people there & apart from one short very light shower it stayed dry Met Chattsmini & saw the SAFmini posse. The traders traders were busy, & a new trader (well at least new to me) South Lakes Mini Centre had a huge range of new (mostly) boxed Genuine Rover spares at really good prices. SPi engine management relays £28 against Minispares £100, genuine Rover mudflaps £20 against £28

Yes wasnt a bad day, never been there before, but nice to have a reasonable priced show for a change, rather than £8 per person like at Malvern, and nice to put some faces to names

They've also arranged the re-manufacture of non-vented filler caps. The company in France stopped making them a while ago, and scrapped the tooling for them. They've got 10k on the way, though they've been on the way for 3 months now and the first 2 samples weren't up to scratch...
Unfortunately they didn't have any offside rear mk2 lenses; I was after one thanks to someone having knocked and cracked mine. Don't know where or when, but I didn't notice it when I washed the car on Saturday

Try giving Peter Hanes a call at Somerford's, he's very helpful

I have several pairs in the shed, unfortunately they're right at the back of the shed; just thought if I could pick one up for a reasonable amount, I'd fit it and not have to worry about disturbing 5x10x6ft of stuff

Well I think that stanford hall is the new MITP in both terms of atmosphere and setting. Ijust hope who ever takes over Mini World keep the format and make it even better

I absolutely adore Stanford Hall and it always seems to be sunny there. It's a wonderful venue and is a great way to start slowing down the Mini season. Yeah it is almost the new Mini in the Park, I agree and I intend to carry on attending it - fab show
We did indeed have a good day at Stanford again. Saw lots of GT runners and said a few hellos to familiar faces, not good with names but hey! I've been to Stanford every year since I passed my driving test, it is a good show tho the club stand areas seem to get smaller as more clubs come. Can you imagine if we had a club stand purely for GT runners? hmmmm
