Last Year Stuart Goodridge organised a Fly Day for the families and children who use the two CHSW Childrens Hospices it was such a success that the event is to happen again on Sunday the 3rd of October
John and Nadine of the Hunter Flying Club have offered an invitation to any Minis and their owners who would like to join them there will be entertainment and a BBQ
I have asked John what time the Minis will need to be in by and will post up his reply when i get it . I am having to get there early ie by 8.30 if you dont mind any early start your welcome to come with me by the way the relevent post code is at the top of the thread - EX5 2BD
i am attaching a write up of last years event pleas see below
would anyone like to come??
"AROUND 60 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families took to the skies as part of a charity event.
City firm Goodridge and Children’s Hospice South West put on the first-ever Flyday event at Exeter International Airport yesterday.
The day of fun for children and their carers was the brainchild of Goodridge founder and chairman, Stuart Goodridge, and director Jon Hanna, both qualified pilots, who have provided flights for disabled youngsters for a number of years.
Mr Goodridge, who has been flying for 35 years, said: “It is the first time we have done this. We have been thinking about it for a while as I flew special needs children for a number of years, but this is the first time it has been organised as an event with lots of children and their families."

Hi, for those coming the gate opens at 8:30 to 10:30 but the earlier would be better
Penny, John said you can bring the puppy but you will need to ensure he is always on the lead.
See you all Sunday
please note if you use the post code - SAT NAV will take you to the main terminal
Directions are -
From the M5 (Southbound) Take the exit slip for the airport (J29) At the traffic lights at the bottom of the slip road turn left and keep in the left hand lane - marked Sowton Follow this road for a mile and you will then see the airplanes parked at the bottom of the runway on the right handside Just after this there is a large hangar on your right hand-side, and the gate Hopefully, Goodridge will have the signs out again this year.
For Morky, its on the old A30 Clyst Honiton Road

This is an excellent day and you would be mad to miss it. Sadly we have the little ones all to ourselves this weekend been planing it for weeks nappies and all. But have a nice day, last year was great. |
