...i'd strangle the hell out of it > driving home from work (had a really c**p day there) and second gear decided to go missing (while im booting it round a roundabout), shortly followed by third gear. and first and third gear now whines like a whiney whining female dog , driving through town in mainly first gear, so its screaming at 30mph, then stick it in 4th so it chugs like an old diesel boat certainly got quite a few strange looks, but at least i had an excuse for doing it. so now im looking for a gearbox and a clutch (its nackered anyway) as cheap as possible....

it did remind me of one of my driving tests looks like i'll be getting a banger to run about in while i fix it, though knowing me it probably wont be a very practical banger

For those of you who don't know. On a LEJOG at a petrol station I reversed back to let a real mini get to the pumps and did not take into account the curved base of the tanker filling area behind me and although not moving much the force whacked my MINI exhaust. It was very noisy on the rest of the run and cost me £450 to replace.
On the run after, "the others" were guiding me back every time I had to reverse but I was reluctant especially near the edge of harbour walls!
Thankfully I'm better teaching it and Sarah I could teach you a very simple trick to bay parking.
oh yes please i panic, mind u on my test i did a turn in the road and managed to turn it and then carry on the same away i was going in the first place, the man said calm down, think and i did it, that goodness its not a 3 point turn anymore!!
