I have been on a day trip to France today with my sister who is on a trip down to stay with me from Scotland. Drove down to Bolulonge and then went back to Cite Europe. TomTom being his usual unhelpful self took us on a very roundabout way from Boulogne back to Calais and we got stopped by the police (can't think why in my subtle looking car ) They reckoned that they asked us to stop, Val & I reckoned they just waved us right into a side road (we assumed there was a blockage or accident straight on) Anyway cos I din't stop straight away they breathalised me Needless to say I hadn't been drinking at 2.30pm!! so they pointed the way to the motorway and we headed off back to Cite Europe. All in all it was a great day quite warm and very sunny. It cost us £18 for the car and the pair of us and we got a case of 6 bottles of wine for free - we call that a bargain

they probably reckoned you looked a right dodgy pair - the black eye and fat lip probably didn't help much either! honestly, you're not safe to be let out on your own!

I'd like to organise a day trip to France but you do boat and we do tunnel..... how easy is it to meet up the other side? I have fond memories with SMOC on day trips. To let the others catch up we kept on the roundabout and blocked the Frogs from getting on. Heidi would be sitting on Andrew's lap wondering what on earth we were doing and we stopped circling when she looked as if she was going to be sick. I was close to it sometimes.
We got pulled up scarily by armed police and forced out the car as they had picked up on the camera our 11 air horns under the car. we had to strip the car but Heidi was tired and did not want to get out.
i remember those trips too, do you remember when we all went the wrong way down a one way street, hehe, smoc is going for a weekend to brugge christams markets, some by boat, the rest in the tunnel and meeting at a hyper market. And O.B, we saw you at bluewater on saturday, we waved, but you didnt see us,

Not keen on the tunnel at al,l though I must admit Eurostar wasn't too bad (first class and breakfast helped )

I was at Bluewater on sunday Andrea, wasn't much else to do on a very wet weekend
One year we went to France for the day on Christmas Eve and were pulled over by security at Folkestone. It was early in the morning, there weren't many people around and they were obviously a bit bored as the only reason they had stopped us was that they wanted us to sound our air horns. The fact that one of them was Jingle Bells made them even more excited.
Then someone came out of the office and gave me a sheet of paper with photos of the car and said "That's how we knew you had horns". When they finally let us go they had radioed ahead and each time we came to a Eurotunnel employee they stopped us and we had to sound the horns.
hahaha that is mint!!!! We did the tunnel thing with some of SMOC for the new years day parade things. Wouldnt do that again for all the tea in china but could be persuaded to do a chocolate and wine run, Marc has the wine, I have the choc. I did a historic car tour in my old 1100 special waaaay back when I first passed my test. I seem to recall driving round roundabouts the wrong way and down other roads on the wrong side, thank god for CBs!!
