May 15th Petroc Motorsport Day at Chivenor

Terrys asked me to contact the organisers of this to see if we can be of any help ie have a club stand im waiting to hear back from the organisers -no word back yet but thought i would post the dates so we can pencil this in

Nice local event for those not going to Brighton.

If we want a club stand that is no problem, Mike will speak to the organiser! If that helps!  He is emailing him as I type!!

"Hi Penny,

I am very familiar with the mini register and the great work you do.

We would very much like for you to have a stand at our Motorsport Fun Day, I have seen your minis on the road and I am sure they would look brilliant lined up in our show ground.

The only thing that we ask is that you refrain from any fund raising activity at this event; the Motorsport Day is in aid of The C Group and The RMB Chivenor Community Fund and it is very important to us that we raise as much money as possible for these two very important charities, especially as the Royal Marines based at Chivenor will be posted to Afghanistan at the time of our event, we have a general policy that the only fundraising permitted at the event is for these two charities.

We encourage you to use our Motorsport Day to promote all the great work you do and your Legendary Grand Tour, we are working with Emma and Children’s Hospice South West on another event in August called the Barnstaple Pedal Car Grand Prix which is solely supporting the Children’s Hospice.

I have attached a club booking form for your information; this explains how to book your stand and the concession tickets we are offering for passengers or guests of your club.

we are all dependant on london to brighton....... is Terry going?? and does he want us to go?????  

I know Terry is planning a Brighton stand as I was cheeky enough to ask for a space..... It was a couple of weeks ago he was aiming to book it. London and Surrey will not let him down.

im probably gonna make life difficult now, but is it too late to enter for this event? i havent attended an event with the club before, and i was due to enter this one on my own accord but i lost the booking form, doh!

if not, dont worry and i'll still attend but have to leave my Mini in the car park

Hi Ryan i emailed them last night about what time they need us there before 10.00 but as yet have got no feed back sorry i did order i passenger ticket ill ask if they could include a 2nd one at £5 but its likely your other poassenger may need to pay the full price on the day !!!

On the possitive side Husbands Car club pack arrived today from them so hopefully ours is in the post!!

can you  check back later in the week its likely we would need to meet up before going in (perhaps at the Tarka Inn)so i can give out the passes or else you could collect from my address before Sun

further to the message above and having now read Husbands info pack exhibitors need to access the site via the Wrafton Entrance  betwheen 6am!!! and 8 am and we wont be able to leave till 6 pm

i doubt whether ill be there for 6 though and 8 is pushing it having got back from Japfest on the day before !!

am getting fed up with tickets being waved infront of me considering it was after i applied for tickets that the aforementioned car club applied ----weeks after i contacted them!!!!!! >

according to my mate who entered last year with his mazda RX7, they had to be there about 7am. not particularly pleased about that idea, but hey ho....

i like the idea of meeting at the Tarka Inn beforehand!

DD as you wnet last year are they very strict about you not going before 6 or can you dissappear earlier

i cycled there from Bideford last year, as it was before i had my Mini. but, my mate who did enter said that it was better to go early as they had big queues going in for the competitors/exhibitors. Being the 2nd year, hopefully they have learnt from last year.

also they did make you wait until 6 last year, but may have changed. if not, surely you've seen the Italian Job, so we can work out some kind of escape plan! :p

It can be hard work organising events. You've got to be at your event before we have at Brighton. Is there lots to do at the show? 6pm......

we dont have to do anything !!! but apparently there will be lots of exhibitors going in

well the weather is looking better now hopefully its warm and dry at Brighton too

no the driver gets in free but you will have to pay the full price on the way in for the passenger as ive only got one drivers ticket left

i think it was £9 although the actual tickets says £13  we shall be on site in the British Car section but did you read a previous thread about us not being able to leave till 6pm unless it syas there is a reason why you might need to leave early but you would need to chat re this with one of the marshalls
