We were planning to come down Friday afternoon anyway( Wednesday to erect tents) so if I can awaken the kids by 10am, they would help on the stalls and I will happily collect someone from Little Bridge House, one car definitely may be two if you are still short closer to the day

Terry, All,

Jane and I are up for helping on the Saturday.  We'll have space for one or two people from Little Bridge house in each Mini, we have three of our kids with us but we can juggle them around no problem.

Let us know if this will help.

Just to let all those involved in the morning convoy, we have to get the children back to the hospice in time for lunch at 1-00 o'clock but then it is back to the big sheep.

I'm happy to do booking-in while others do Big Sheep. Like Sunday mornings (in the words of Lionel Ritchie),  "I'm easy."

I hope to start the booking in on Thursday so we should not have the same type of pressure on the Saturday as we normally have, unless it rains for the whole week before, then we may have the odd problem. As to the big sheep, we are getting a lot of non marshals wanting to be part of the convoy and to help in the big sheep. Maybe it is a bridge to far but I am not going to lose any sleep over it. If I am the only one doing the the booking in so be it I will cope fine and enjoy every minute. I would much rather have everyone else in the Big sheep enjoying themselves and trying to raising a few bob if they can.

Anyone who turns up late can bookin on the Sunday at westward Ho when everyone will be there helping . Most of the fine details of the LGT will be sorted at the campsite over a beer or 2 with the marshals that are there.

Quite a lot of the peeps coming this year do not haunt this board as often as us regulars. I'm sure a few of the Central Minis together with Tasha and Ken to name just two groups would only be too glad to either convoy to LBH and back or help out on the day as others will do once the atmosphere hits them. I'll be there on the Tuesday to help set up the campsite and by Saturday, it should in theory be running fine. I'm happy to fit in wherever I can be of use and I'm positive it will all come together. This event in my opinion just comes together every year. This year should be no different.

Fish and chips on Tuesday night again Terry ??

Naturally we will have Domino with us which rules us out The Big Sheep. We could get to campsite mid to late morning to help there. Saturday.

heading for failure
Terry,
As mentioned on another thread, please include my car for the convoy from LBH.

Can we not keep the Booking in open longer.
It seems strange to only set certain times, when most of the booking marshalls are hanging around the tent anyway.  I know we all want to have a good time etc, but we don't necceasrly do it for ourselfs.
If we could book people in as they arrive and pitch up, this will help reduce the preasure on the saturday.
I appresiate we have a certain security and logistic issue with the money, t-shirts, water and everything else, but with the staff and skills we have we should be able to have almost 24hr staffing.

Booking in is not a problem but if we do not say a time someone is bound to start banging on the tent at 4 in the morning. We can book people in any time as long as there is someone there. On the other hand we should not forget this thing is now a week long and not just a weekend and that is a big commitment for the people who make this event happen. If you put to much on to those people they might start to think it is a burden, especially at lunch or in the evening when you are eating.
Like most things on the LGT we will have to wait and see what happens, maybe they will all read the updated update and all book in between 10am - 4pm but I doubt it.

It's getting closer isn't it.................

Personally, I can't wait.

I'm sure any booking in issues can be addressed once we're all in place.

Oh, did I say it's getting closer ?

Hi Terry We have now booked accommodation for Friday night to enable us to get to The Big Sheep early Saturday. We will not arrive until late on the friday and will be too early for the official booking in time on Saturday. Will we be able to book in and get plaque etc for the LBH run?

Thanks

Put a sign up:

"Booking in is open between 10am and 4pm.

Outside these times, please don't knock on the tent because the Rottweiler doesn't like it, and we haven't managed to stop him getting out of the tent when he's not happy.

Please ring the bell instead; it's much safer as the Rottie's quite deaf so it won't bother him."
