My dad had one of his knees  replaced 2 years ago, he was only in hospital 3 days & wishes he'd had it done earlier. The only pain he's sufferd in the knee since the op was when they took the staples out a week or so after the op.

Thank you. sounds promising. I think I'll do one at a time, the left one is worse and my right leg is of more use.

How's little one doing?

She's doing great thanks, very happy & ready with a smile
Getting her passport photo done next week, not sure how we're going to stop her smiling for that!

. . . had planned to run power down to my new(ish) shed - but the sky's "as black as a gorilla's goolies" and it keeps throwing a squally hail shower at me. So I've decided not to bother for the morning at least, and to sit at my pooter with a coffee.
Happy days,

R.

good luck Rita, joel dad has his done a few years back he wasnt in hospital for long and was back up and walking with no issues. I was due knee replacements (mine dislocate as most of you know!) i had surgery to reshape my bone so the kneecap could stay in place, i know it wasnt the same as new knees but i found myself up and about in days, the pain after the op was nothing in comparrison to the pain of dislocating your knees. Good luck with it all

I am off out in a second for a photo thing - patrick and i (along with friends) are going to be in devon life magazine. An article has been written about how we have met via facebook and how our dogs/buisnesses have grown. I cannot wait - i sure hope patrick poses beautifully It should be out in feb/march - not sure yet its all been written we await these photographs

Good luck with the op(s) Rita - losing weight new knees, you'll be skipping about all over the place soon
Today I had a play with Lisa's new car (and very nice it is too) she had to go into work just after 8 this morning so I needed a car to drop off and pick up the boys - I don't see Max very much at the moment as Michelle has him for work at the moment (although I expect she'll be back on the bike again soon) She drops him off on thurs evening for me to go to fat club (I maintained this week - still in target tho') and then she has him back at the weekend to take Luke roller skating and then I don't see him till the following thursday

Rita: be thankful you're being offered new knees now.

My Dad has had knee problems since his late teens (not ideal when you're in the Army) and broke a patella a couple of winters back. The knee specialist has said that he needs another operation on that one but it's not worth doing, even privately, seeing as he's now 60 and has one or two other health issues. They'd rather wait and do pain management until he gets to 70, when they'll eventually look at artificial ones...

Not good when your doctor writes you off at 60. My doctor knows I am trying to lose weight and helped me to go on Lighterlife. He was grateful he did not have to approach the subject as he says some people look at him alarmingly. He also said because I try to walk with the dog ( In pain I do a mile a day) and that I do not smoke I should easily fit the criteria for the op.

I'm also still having tests on my tummy episode, I'm happy to be discharged as I've had no trouble since the big one at september. But my haemaglobin figure keeps falling so they want to look for a possible bleed. You can guess where they're going to look next..... The day before will be interesting. I will be camping out in the bathroom.

Call me sicknote now.

Today I picked up my new glasses with quite a changed prescription. I have good vision in lenses but it was funny being able to read so much in glasses. BUT hard to look at this screen, I'm having to sit right back.
