Hi Terry ,
Count me in as a marshal for the Saturday morning journey to Little Bridge House. I was a first time Marshal last year as you know and I missed seeing Little Bridge House. See you next Friday

I know we have our regular marshals but a meeting of some sort maybe to cover the changes or shall we just read the front page and ask questions. You need someone strong to control the traffic as we leave Bideford park.

Well done you! I think we're going a different way this year. Did you wear a hoodie over your helmet?

No that wasn't me. I think he was the one the police had a little word with. I was parked in the island of the road you came down to the roundabout. I think the marshal you were thinking of was on the next island to the right

Hi Terry ,
Count me in as a marshal for the Saturday morning journey to Little Bridge House. I was a first time Marshal last year as you know and I missed seeing Little Bridge House. See you next Friday

I will be a pleasure meeting you again and I know you will enjoy going into Little Bridge House. Not sure how many children will be going to the Big Sheep but does it matter. The first time we went there with 25 Minis we took one young lad out for a ride, it was his own convoy.

Lets not forget we will have the pipe band lead us out of the park and with a bit of luck we might even get a little bit of help from the police, like in the past. I will get the park sorted now that I know we have a problem there  but that problem cannot be as bad as the big roundabout, I would rather have the park any day than the night mare we call haywoods roundabout. We could have a meeting to cover the changes but we can sort that out at the marshals meeting, more important would be a meeting to cover the parking at IIfracombe and Lee Abbey.

If I do not know we have a problem I cannot get it sorted. Lets not forget when we leave Bideford Park on the Monday we might get more marshals than we did last year on the Sunday. I hope there will be more people to see us off at the park than normal and I hope there will be more marshals to help us.

Before I fixed the changes I spoke to Dave a couple of times and got his opinion . I haven't brought these changes in because I felt like it, I brought them in because of a  necessity. If anyone has any questions about the route then please ask.

I have to add that Haywoods roundabout was not the only reason for the changes to the route but it was a main one. Over the past years most of the major carnivals have changed there routes. Haywoods roundabout always takes a lot of marshals to control, we could do with those marshals  further along the route. Abbotsham roundabout is a lot smaller and when we hit it we will have the right of way over all the roads except for the traffic coming from Hartland direction.

At Westward Ho last year we had traffic issues concerning the parking by the spectators. They were parking everywhere except the carparks, that has somehow become our problem. We have had to pay Devon Highways to make us up 2 signs and this year we are going to have to put bollards up.

Another reason why we have moved the Main day to the park is because in the past those mini owners at the end of the promenade always felt out of it because they were so far from the hub. In the park it will be one big circle and everyone will be able to see each other.  There are also a lot more carparks close by.

I do not know how these changes will affect spectator numbers but I think we will still have 1 or 2 people come down to watch us leave in both places and once we get back on our normal route we be back to normal.
