Bumble poorly

I was on a lesson this afternoon prepping the pupil for my check test tomorrow. Going down a 60 mph single carriageway she went 1st, 2nd not 3rd thrust him into 1st again at 25 mph. Bumble did not like that and after he would not engage a gear.He would stationary but not with the car running.

I got a cab for my 7 month pregnant pupil and declined payment for the lesson. Recovery american style left hand drive cab turned up and diagnosed gear selector. Ouch that sounds expensive. As usual, no coat, stupid footwear but at least I had my walking stick. Car at Cooper Croydon awaiting verdict.

My check test paperwork says not having a car is not an excuse so I don't know what I can do. I will ring them tomorrow at 8 and explain. I'm upset because I was looking forward to my test and hoping for an improved grade.

Oh dear that doesn't sound good does it? Mind you when I read the title I was worried that it was you Rita so I'm relieved that you are alright but hope Bumble is soon better  

I kept getting a premonition around LGT that I was going to endure a breakdown but I thought it would be Krakatoa.

I too thought it was you Rita when I read the title, so relieved it wasn't   sorry to hear about Bumble hope he gets sorted soon and the repair costs are not too painful

It's clutch. £2,076 that's painful. Apparently a flywheel is involved at £600 plus VAT. Still cheaper than if I had bought a new car.

The car was supposed to be ready today but I got a 7am text to say they cannot get a flywheel til early next week. My pupils are going to get fed up with me at this rate.

I also thought it was you Rita that was ill so glad it was the car but still, sorry to hear that is was the car, thats some bill. The pupils will have to be patient, its not really surprising that happened, I'm sure you get more than your share of dodgy gear changes with all the learners. You must have the patience of a saint, I couldnt do that for love nor money!!

Wednesday, a week to the day he broke down and I've just got him back. I've got pupils stacking up and giving me a hard time which I suppose I can understand. One in particular is close to getting the elbow. I'll give her a hard lesson tomorrow. Bumble went flat on me whilst I was waiting for the recovery truck so I'll get Andrew to put him on charge tonight.

You can always threaten to make them drive around Hemel Hempstead's Magic Roundabout if they give you too much grief

Oooooo nasty nasty place. Goes against all you know about driving. Colchester has a few a bit hairy too, but Hemels Magic is the worst!!

Don't know what you mean, it's a brilliant roundabout! Although you always know when someone approaches it for the first time, they just sit there like a rabbit in the headlights

I see that most days people just sitting at roundabouts waiting for someone to make the first move, its me usually blasting through in the truck.
