NDMR Soapbox/Forum / Cry Wolf / Petition slow down
Posted by: Terry, December 10, 2008, 5:40pm
Well the petition has started to slow down but the Cry Wolf face book keeps getting bigger I have been thinking maybe we have embarked on another waste of time and why do people sign on our facebook and not bother to sign the petition. Them this afternoon I received a phone call from BBC Spotlight who wanted to come out tomorrow and do a piece on our cry wolf campaign but I know Leigh and Nicola will not want to be infront of a camera, I did tell spotlight that I would ask. They were going to phone me back but as yet.
Then later on I received a phone call from the N D Journal who would like to help us get a bit of support so they are going to do a bit about it next week and they are hoping to get a picture of the girls and Amelia on Saturday night at Braddicks.
I have been sending out letters all over the place, we can only do so much and we do need help maybe it is on the way.

Well done, that will defo raise more and more people to do it, also try signing onto other cancer facebook groups and add the link to the petition and group with a breif thing about what cry wolf is all about, who knows that will prob drum up quite alot of promotion!!

The best profile lift would be if Leigh especially felf comfortable in front of a camera and people would be over awed at her story. Even if it was like a voice over with footage of going through a day at work or walking Bailey along the beach. It is brave girls like Leigh and Nicola we are trying to help in the future.
The other thought is not all these potential victims have the comfort of a strong, protective and caring family around them. When I had my scare (and I was very scared) Kylie Minogue was in the news at the same time. I felt stronger by knowing people were aware and sopportive.

Spot light said they would like to do the story on New years eve and said it would not be the same without Leigh but Leigh is still a little bit concerned about the TV. I am working on her and will have another go over the weekend.

Fair Along just won at Cheltenham. I was out on test but I expect Leigh was on TV leading him.

Yes and they did a bit on Fairalong before the race. Leigh was on telly for quite a bit or so Nic said. No one told us she was racing and fairalong came in at 8 to 1. Leighs phone is play up.

The paper petition is still going here we've had permission off the organizers of the new years day swim in saunderfoot to take it with us then so hopefully it'll get even bigger.
We are currently looking a re doing our website and will be adding links to the cry wolf pages there too.
