Hi Guys
Need some help having trouble with my 1999 MPI a few wweks ago it blew the fuse for the right hand side light and insturment lights since changing it keeps on blowing I've tried moving wires etc with the lights on and it's fine It ojnly blows when the car is moving forwards and thats it not in reverse. Need to get it sorted for Thursday night for my trip down to North Devon on Friday.
Any ideas would be welcome

not an expert on mpi mini's but if it's like my 1985 mini the headlight wiring comes down the inside of the drivers wing and then splits using bullet connectors to feed each headlight. The wires to each side pass through the inner wings and this is a good place to start, does it blow every time you turn on the lights or more intermittently?

It only blows when the car is going forwards I can turn the lights on when the car is stationary and its fine as soon as the car gets to about 5/10 mph it blows

it might be something near the headlight bowl, is the headlamp wobbly when you touch it?

Both of the head lights move if you push them but not if you only tap them

i was thinking it maybe a broken wire or short that occured when the headlamps move.

maybe further along the wiring, most if its covered in plastic stuff. or it could be a corroded plug, even though they are supposed to be waterproof they still rust inside. if its popping fuses it can really only be a wiring issue, a dodgy bulb or bulb holder. try a different set of bulbs or swap them round from the other side, see if that makes any difference.
