Every so often I sit down tired aching and find it hard to see the keys but i have a glow inside because this weekend has been so special. This weekend we didn't go to MITP because we spent Saturday at Little bridge House the CHSW putting up gazbos for their fete. Then in the afternoon we got our own games sorted. Splat the rat, berties balls and buckets Jo's quackers or hook the boat, wellie throwing and even park the mini. The children paid a pound and had a go on everything at the end they got a token worth a pound, which they could spent at our goodie table. We were kept busy from the moment the gates opened I think I lost 2ozs on Saturday going up and down the rat Ladder.
Everyone worked so hard especially Penny who organised it, running around with her clip board. To be able to make children laugh is magic to make their Mums & Dads laugh along with them well is wonderful. All of us had a great time keeping the children amused but it was hard work. We didn't make a fortune but who cared, then at the end of the day we had to take down all the gazbos.
Today we went to Westward Ho and spent the time chilling out on the putting green whist the Lions club tried to raise a few bob for charity. Then it was Appledore carnival. I love carnivals and for some reason the carnivals love the minis. We get such a welcome and you would think the minis have got something special going on with the people of North Devon, I love carnival.
So now I am so knackered and I have so much work to do but lifes to short to worry about it. Just want to say a very big thank you to everyone who help make the weekend such a good one. God bless minis and the people who drive them

We went to a Classic Car Show in Newton Abbot. 63 Minis turned up in aid of Help the Heroes. It re-kindled my adrenalin after IMM. We've now got a spare weekend coming up before something at the end of the month IIRC. See you all on the 28th.

Talking about glasses 8) I've taken my 'new' glasses ::) back to specsavers for about the umpteenth time. I got them at the end of May, had terrible trouble with them on LeJog, which wasn't good :'( Anyway I took them back yet again and saw the Director this time, upshot is they are going to remake them for me, so fingers crossed when I get them back I will actually be able to see properly through them. I have been going to specsavers for years and to be honest this is the first time I've ever had a problem ;D

We'll be drawing lots as to whether you're behind us in the convoy! Eat a few more carrots.

Yes, I've started getting clothes ready . Ive got lists everywhere and I'm getting excited. I could not get my 2x2hour lessons done quick enough today and I've got another to do. I'm getting food kitchen essentials ready also.
Bit of advice Richard. Having more time on your hands means you have more time to pack. When we did our 6 week holiday in our real mini with Heidi round Ireland and Scotland when we actually met up with a washing machine I found out I had packed 18 knickers! Too much time to get prepared.

Thanks Rita, I'm doing the "list making" thing too, plus I've started a pile of things not to wear again before LGT and got my holdall down from the loft. I bought some new trainers too, and I'm wearing them about the house, to break them in before their debut! However 18 pairs, I don't think I own half that number!
I've been doing other things today too, like picking 20lbs. of green tomatoes for Jane to make chutney, then being "kitchen hand" - washing/clearing up & sterilising jars etc. So far 16 jars made and another (curry flavoured) batch soaking until tomorrow. Only 12lbs. to go!! Lunchtime salad consisted of tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce from the garden (+ prawns from Waitrose!) Off to dig up some potatoes in a mo. Jane has the "green fingers" - mine are just muddy!!!

I took my trailer over to Trident Trailers in Faversham for a service today, also they were going to check the car as when the trailer is hitched and I brake the nearside brake light on the car goes out. I went over with a friend, so we left the car and trailer and wandered off in to town for some retail therapy and then found ourselves some lunch ;D
We then went back and collected the car and traler, was told all was fine, so paid the bill and went back to Val's (my friend) house. When she got out she went round behind the trailer and I pressed the brake pedal - lo and behold the car brake light went out ::) After a bit of wire jiggling and opening up the pins in the plug on Trident's advice - with no luck, I took them back to Faversham. After a fairly longish wait while they checked both car and trailer again, they decided that there was something wrong with the way the tow bracket had been wired when it was fitted which caused a power drain when the brake was applied. Seeing as the towball was fitted by Trident - admittedly in Canterbury (now closed - hence Faversham) I now have to take it back on Thursday to be rewired at no expense to me (well apart from the petrol to get back there ::) I also got a free new jockey wheel for Jock jr as we broke it on lejog, they waved the price as I'd had to go back there ;D

I told you how much we enjoyed the CHSW Fete and how it made you feel inside I think we all felt the same. We didn't worry to much about how much money we were making only that the children were having fun. I was hoping Penny would tell you this but maybe she is having a rest a well deserved rest.
A couple of days ago she PM'd me this
results from the Fete ==£1866.65
It was short but OH so sweet well done Penny that is fantastic.

Yep very well done and we're sorry we could not find the time to come down to help.
Penny, my sponsors are liking the cards I bought off you at Dartington. I've got enough to write and thank them after Grand Tour and let them know how much we raised . So important to keep your sponsors informed.

I think you're one of many that wish they lived closer! For me, there's too many reasons to stay in Hampshire at the moment. . .
