This years LGT was without doubt the best one I have ever organized. The rain at heartland quay did not dampen anyone's spirits and the extra run after Dartington was a bonus everyone enjoyed. The reason why it was so good was because of the fantastic mini owners who took part.

This year we had so many new participants take part I felt it gave the LGT a much needed blood transfusion. Those people who did not book in this year were not missed and could well of done us a favor.

We do what no one else in the country can do. We hold 8 minis shows over 2 and a bit days and when we are not parked up we are driving around the highways and bye ways of North Devon in convoy.

We also have a group of excellent Motorbike Marshals who braved the weather to help us.

So thank you to every one who helped make this years LGT the best one yet.

oh and by the way the weekend raised over

£26,283

yes thats right over £26,283 and that will go up.

Thank You.

Had a fantastic time, LGT is always the highlight of our year and it seems to get better every year.

Well done to Terry and all the guys who do the work behind the scenes, thanks for having us again.

Time to start planning next years outfit and working on the minis there will be three next year  :)

No other club/event can touch what you manage to achieve Terry.  Thanks for another great LGT.

Another fantastic year, well done to all who took part, and we'll see you all again next year for some more mini fun, on the run, in the sun, in north devon. (just made the last bit up - does it show?)

Roll on next year so we can do it all again. ;D ;D

Glad all you who have travelled back today are safely home.  Lisa is now back on the Planet - she had a good run home, but the rest of us Planet crew are still here in windy (very ::)) Westward Ho! just chilling out after our very exhausting but thoroughly exciting and enjoyable weekend.  ;D

A huge well done to Terry and the Team!!  2009 was my 7th attendence in a row and I know I will be back again next year.  I'm sure I speak for all the LSMOC Members that attend in saying that the NDGT is our favourite Mini event on the calendar and look forward to it every year!

Would just like to say a big thank you to Terry, Linda and all the people involved in making this year's Tour better than ever.

Have been doing these for 6 years - regrettably, having to miss last year's. Totally gutted at the time.

Have had the best weekend - the whole Club has had a blast and can't wait for next year, already.

Glad the donation to the auction went down well - good on that marshall who stumped up the fifty quid !

Again - on behalf of all the Club members who attended (myself, Mark Grylls, Sven & Pen, Mr Duval, Mr Shrunkel, Mr Bird Senior and Mr Bird Junior) - thank you so much for dong what you do and for letting us take part.

Well done Terry and all involved in organising this fantastic event, our 8th and possibly the best yet. It really made my wife's birthday winning those trophies and having Happy Birthday sung by such a very special crowd of nutcases. Drove all the way home to Somerset in our fancy dress, lots of smiles and flashing lights, (luckily not blue ones) as I forgot to remove the cat's eye covers from the lights. Guess I Just didn't want the fun to end.

Got home today with ChimChiMini at 4.30 after our best ever LGT (Even if I don't want to ever hear another Marry Poppins track again)

Hats of to Terry, the bikers & all the marshalls for all their effort in organizing another brilliant tour.
Roll on August 2010!

A big thanks to Terry, Linda and all the backroom boys and girls, biker marshals and us ordinary marshals.
I think the best LGT yet (even though its only my third). Great news on the total so far.
I will definately be back in 2010.

Well it has rained for most of the night but the wind has died down a little.  It's very grey out there though, and it was much better in the caravan rather than the tent ::).  We are thinking of heading to the Milky Way today, hoping that there is enough under cover stuff to do there ;D

I'm glad the wind didn't die down on the Friday, otherwise it might not have ripped our tent & we might not have ended up in a nice warm, dry b&b with en-suite!  :) :)

This year was my second and first as a marshall - good to see the event from both sides - and was my most expensive so far (wonder why?).

Moonbeam' settling in, Snowy was a little nervous at first but likes his feet (Mrs Siddarz has decided that Moonbeam is actually a little boy bear, I'm on the fence  :D )

So many thanks to Terry and his crew for a ridiculous amount of hard work and for doing such a great job.
And what a phenomenal amount to have raised.  Fantastic.

Yep we're taking Krakatoa down as he is out on good behaviour. We're not on a club stand, we just find a nice little pitch. We'll see who are dedicated Grand tourers by if they wear their pink tee shirts or not...............

It's the boys I'll be looking out for. Some of them did not keep them on long enough to get dirty but they might be smelly.

I washed Andrew's on its own and tumbled it and it's ready to wear. The colour did not run into the label either. I'm the wrong shape to wear a tee shirt. One year maybe.

It's not the girls we're after. Rumour has it, some people were not happy wearing pink.............. We give each year a tee shirt to the son of the boy where we stay. He is 21 with Dows syndrome and was waving frantically at us at Fremington. His mum can't get it off him to wash it.

i'm back on the planet and had a typical westward ho! torrential down pour to see us off - but it's OK coz the sun is shining on the planet. rumour has it that the 4/6 wheel mob have also just returned to the planet so we all had a pretty good run - traffic looked hideous on the other carriageway - especially by stonehenge (surprise!) and on the m25. just have to go and put some shorts on now and sit in the sun!  :D :D :D

Some of the Essex crew got back last night having spent the rest of the week in Dorset, we checked out the HUGE steam fair too! WoW!! Had a fantastic GT, love doing this and cant believe that we considered not doing it one year, we've done 6 now! Nigel behaved brilliantly until we left Illy when he started to back fire and splutter about. When we drove him in to Bideford Monday night to get fish n chips he scared the life out of me(I was driving) when he nearly chuntered to a halt and blew a massive back fire including sparks out the exhaust!!! NEVER has a mini done that to me.

Thank you to all the people involved with the setting up of this event and all the marshalls that look after us. Thank you to all who make us so welcome each year.

Major BIG thanks to Tel and Lindy for this event, not just possibly the best mini event in the world but definately the best in the world.

MM

PS I will be back to bid on the LEJOG bear next year!!! :D

Nice little show, no entry fee and free parking to have a mooch round Worthing. I'm glad I had my chair for the duration of the raffle.............

The girls are fine with pink, it's the boys. I have to say, Andrew kept his fleece on all day at Worthing but you could see the V of pink.

We have to think of next year's colour. I'm sure Terry and Linda will choose well again. Pink is a special colour for a special cause and we must not lose sight of that.

And Sal, you must be especially proud to wear yours. It's a size smaller!!!!
Posted by: Terry, September 7, 2009, 8:00am; Reply: 71
As I have said before I very rarely apologise for what I do with the beast we did have a number of reasons why we chose pink Tee shirts but the main one was because we were brave enough to do it. We had been asked to do pink Tee Shirts for years by the ladies but always worried what the men would say. Well half the mini owners who do the LGT are female and if the truth were known more than half the minis that do the LGT are owned by females.
I did hear a few people moan about the colour but I think those people who moaned are the ones that do not get dressed up in fancy dress anyway.
We have had such a good response with regards the pink Tee Shirts I am going to the supplier today to see if he can do another run for us. If people had known they were going to be pink a lot more people would have brought them. We never had enough door plaques either so next year we will add them to the booking forms and we also ran out of www.smallcarsbighearts stickers and the breast cancer ribbons.
I think every car and person that goes away from our event wearing something from the LGT will spread the word about the beast that appears in North Devon every August Bank Holiday.
