Sorry, no. Will be at The Thong Run too - shame it's so far from North Devon, as it's almost on a par with "The thing at the end of August!"

OK, Saturday 5th. June and Sunday 6th. June 2010 - you can come along either day, or both. The Run is on the Sunday morning. It is taking place at SG8 5RL, which is on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire Border, not far from the A1 or the M11. One of the reasons we chose this venue is its cost, £0 - so the usual charge of £250-£300 will go to the charities, MacMillan Cancer Care and the National Autistic Society (both of which have touched the lives of Clubman Estate Register members). There is camping, for those who want to do both days, and showers/toilets courtesy of the sports & social club, who also provide the bar, food and bbq (for your own, or purchased food), as well as the power for the Saturday evening music.
You do not have to own a Clubman Estate, and thong wearing is optional! Although many of the Minis will be!! Lunamini on here is making personalised ones for the named cars, for £7 each.
Entry is £11 (£12 on the day) for Mini or MINI drivers (both are welccome), a little more for other vehicles. There are daily admission rates too. We have silly games (optional), a glowshow, a raffle and an auction (both courtesy of donations from many, including traders you'd recognise from Mini Shows), as well as prizes for all manner of things. Pre-ordered t-shirts are for sale.
Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead, and poop is scooped.
Well, you asked!
Do please come along and support us, if you are able.
End of commercial. Many thanks,
R.

Posted by: penny, June 3, 2010, 8:13pm; Reply: 26
OB ----Jo seems to have the same Sat Nav as the one you use on Lejog -- the lady inside the box enjoys to explore all the little side roads looking for rare and unusual plants and animals on the way to events ;D

No problems and on the subject of sat navs how many women have mens voices on the sat navs. I bet thats the reason why so many women get lost using them because they never take any notice of a male voice. No dear I didn't mean you.

That's a shame. You got to bed late. We remember you having sad news just before last years show. We're up and will be leaving about 6.

We got home at 7.15, 3 and a half hours including a leg stretch. Usual M25 M3 M4 mergers. Not the most exciting of shows but the company was good.

Andrew says I was a bit unfair stating it was not the most exciting of shows. The location was good for access to motorway but not a lot to do at the actual farm. The show had a friendly atmosphere and the PA man kept us busy with competitions. It was a fair £6 to enter but mini shows without a doubt are getting quieter and there is definitely a growing number of new MINI clubs attending.
I would have been disappointed if I had entered Show and Shine as it was held on really rough terrain, not easy for cleaning wheels etc and for when you put all your cleaning kit on the deck. I felt sorry for the judges. We'll go again though.

I wasn't supposed to be there but I'm glad I went! Glad I came and gate crashed your stand for a short while too ;D
It's been a fair few years since I attended Bristol Mini Day - even though it's a local show for me and I must say it has shrunk in size, still quite friendly and I had a good time! I think sometimes great company can make up for a lack of busyness!
We were quite lucky with the weather as it was supposed to be showers all day and I think we only had the one where we all hid under gazebos!
See some of you again in 2 weeks time!

We were disappointed too. Whilst the site was better than previous years there was very little going on. Only a handful of trade stands, we ended up buying nothing. There seemed to be a lot of clubs on the actual site but few minis entering to park in the mini carpark with only 30 or so parked up. Only saw one mini driving to the venue and two minis on the way home. Perhaps the forecast was to blame.
