Hello!
Thought it was about time i sign up on here as im doing the tour this year! It all started last year when my the old man - aka XL426 on here convinced me to do it this year because its for such a good cause. Im not new mini's but havent had one in a few years so will be nice to get in one again.
So last year i brought an ebay shocker to do up just for LGT.

An here is where im at now...

Still minus an engine and quite a few hours labour - but il be there, even if its with just one seat, no interior and in mixed colours! Looking forward to it!
Carl

Welcome. We too are doing LGT, it's our 12th. The one event we refuse to not do. Terrific fun, well organised by Terry and for a good cause. We have our own camping area this year says she who self caters in a nice Devon cottage.

Yes iv only ever heard good things so determined to make it, even if i have to turn up in the VW T25 and shotgun a ride with Dad. Looking forward to trying to cram all the camping gear into a mini once more!

And I thought Northerners were supposed to be hardy :D :D :D

We are hardy, but we reserve our right to moan :D
(strictly speaking, I am allowed to whinge about it, officially being a Moonraker who migrated)

Do what I did and go round the farms as it's an old cow shed that was empty and with cash in hand or offers to help mend farm equipment they're normally more than happy to have you there. Mine takes about 8 cars and has an area for bench work and engine builds plus outside iv room for 2 more cars and the caravan. It's got everything we need power, toilet and wash room and plenty of room to work on the mini's, vw's and other classics.
You should be more jealous now :P :D

I am indeed even more jealous :D
There aren't many farms round here and the ones which are close enough seem to have already diversified so that all their space is taken - ok, I haven't been round them all but views from the road suggest there isn't much unused space.
10/15 miles out of Leeds, it's a different matter, but then I have the trade-off of the time it takes to get there and back, and whether I can get to a place, do the work and come back in the same car...
Don't want much, do I? :D
